After you finally capture enough provinces to actually start making more armies you can directly skip them for Tzar Guard who are better overall at holding the line with the only downside being they dont have the pistol the others do but those pistols so fuck all for damage, Ice Guard and Tzar Guard units together are great as are the War Bear Riders but to get there takes a bit.

Malakai on VH campaign difficulty is the ultimate dwarf experience. At the tip of the spear. You're kind of incentivized to utilize the deeps as well. Holding too much territory before you can get multiple armies wont work.

The aesthethics of brightly colored armies may seem absurd too but it helps a lot visually during gameplay as you can at a glance tell the units apart or even their type just from how they look even from afar.You start missing the battle physics/dynamics in titles from shogun 2 onwards because CA set up these elaborate 1v1 animations so single guys get locked up in a "duel" instead of actually outnumbering the enemy and having several guys hitting the same guy at once, which is only cool as a novelty and which you won't even see unless you're zoomed in but really negatively affects the flow of meele during battles imo
