Since it is Christmas, so let’s talk about Mamimi.>STEPMamimi’s mother leaves a note for Mamimi as a child. It says that since both her mom and dad are busy, little Mamimi has to stay home alone on Christmas Eve. Her parents prepared plenty of food and presents for her, but that isn't really what Mamimi needs. She still vividly remembers how that day felt. Now, as a JK, Mamimi wears the flashiest shoes she can find, puts on outlandish clothes, and loiters in the city at night.But what about her hair. Despite the hairdresser raising concerns, Mamimi decided to dye her hair purple because it is her colour. Her mother did not even notice it until Mamimi brought it up herself. Even when her classmates noticed the change, they just moved on without digging any deeper. Even though Mamimi dyes her hair an extravagant colour, the city treats her as if she is transparent. Still, she keeps her hair purple, hoping that someday a special person will notice her true colour. (This is actually from her PSSR3 True End, but since it is super relevant I wanted to include it here.)At the same time, the Producer is struggling to scout new talent, so he decides to explore at night to try his luck. By some miracle, he spots Mamimi and is impressed by her aura. He gives her his business card and tries to persuade her to join 283P to become a top idol. However, once he realizes she is much younger than he originally thought, he quickly switches into a father figure and scolds her for hanging out late at night. Since hardly anyone tells Mamimi what to do out of consideration for her, she obeys his instructions and goes home.

He tells her she needs to be honest with her own feelings. Even if she can't find a clear goal right now, there is no harm in taking a detour here and there. Deep down, Mamimi starts to understand that she truly does enjoy being an idol.

Mamimi’s solo show is a success, and she begins getting offers for more variety shows. To show her appreciation for his hard work, Mamimi gives the Producer some udon. The Producer thinks it is a prank at first, but then he remembers that udon can also mean forever. The shy Mamimi simply beats around the bush.

I think the strongest content for Mamimi is definitely at the beginning. STEP, WING, PSSR3 and 5 are all very good. However with the newer content, it sometimes feels like the writers have run out of things to say. For instance, a lot of recent PSSR content is just about her doing the unexpected and the Producer reacting to it. There is some PLove content here and there, but the structure often feels the same. I really want them to explore more of her childhood or show her facing her insecurities directly. I am also not a big fan of her Landing Point story because it lacks focus. I am not quite sure what they were trying to say with that one. I am just nitpicking though. If you want to start reading her stuff, I actually recommend starting from her PSSR11. It might sound strange, but it is actually a great introductory piece for her.
