This feels like a soft ending, there’s clearly unanswered questions, when people talk about the normal ending, you can equate a soft ending to that. That’s basically how it was at the end of part 1, right? Stuff like Holmes was unaddressed but you could still choose to stop reading the story there and view it as Nasu giving an off ramp.
