Whenever Silver protects/ saves/ mentions the blue skies of the future you are supposed to keep in mind the ending of his story in 06 and how Blaze sacrificed herself with a smile to protect those blue skies which lets Silver enjoy himself and smile but without her (this is incoherent but whatever). This sentimentality is meant to endear the audience to him even when Blaze isn't present and despite neither character actually remembering or expressing these sentiments because 06 "didn't happen". Obviously this is fucking lame because it's irrelevant and can't be properly demonstrated to the audience and Silver has nothing else but he's part of the epic bacon SSS so we get endless filler and "potential" discourse instead. It always comes down to "what if Silver had anything other than Blaze?" but he doesn't and Sonic Team doesn't want to give to him anything because why would they?Like the Knuckles show has Knuckles training Wade to be a warrior to guard the Master Emerald and that's important to both of them but Silvaze is some high-concept bullshit that doesn't even track. This character appeals to literally nobody but shippers.

Byte's creator then made a post on Twitter telling Byte congrats and that she "doesn't own her anymore."They were only kind in public. Behind the scenes was a fucking shitstorm. They had a private Discord and everyone who had their OCs drawn for the comics pretty much found out all at the same time that they no longer owned those characters and they all lost their shit. Byte's owner was apparently fucking furious, and I would be too. She clearly put effort into the character and now she doesn't even own it anymore.This is why I can at least respect Penders for fighting for his characters, because he at least wanted to maintain ownership of the things he created.
