I just feel like its impossible to do anything in pvp lobbies. If you arent stood stock still with your headphone audio set to the max with equalization to hear trex footsteps, you just get snuck up on by someone else who did that. Anytime you loot/breach/shoot arc/etc you get gunned down. If you win the fight, congrats, you spend 6s healing while 2-3 other people in the area rush you. If you win again by some miracle, again you gotta spend time healing while people rush your position. Then you're out of healing items and trigger nades and more people are coming for you, but you cant loot the dead bodies because you'll die etc. Sure every now and then you can clutch up get like 8 kills and gtfo, but I find I die like 80% more in ratkanda than the few times I get fake friendlied in chungartha. I just abuse the matchmaking

This is true, and it does factor in. I must weigh the unpleasantness of being rude and aggressive to other players against the unpleasantness of losing my gear/etc. if I make a wrong judgment and a player rats on me. Well a single run of gear is not usually a serious sum that I would be upset to lose, AND causing PvP and potentially losing (not likely but it can happen) means there is also some risk to attacking. On the whole it does not make sense for me to attack players only for this reason.

I enjoy the occasional dive into ratkanda. It is basically impossible to do anything constructive there. It is also more fun engaging in firefights with people who are trying to kill you. It's weird trying to loot in ratkanda. Niggers are so busy frothing at the mouth trying to kill each other that the map literally goes unlooted. I've spawned into ratkanda assembly halfway through a match to find the place littered with bodies, but all of the containers untouched. What's even more strange is the bodies are looted. They would rather find bandages and shield chargers to fuel their killing spree a little longer than take anything home from the Cave of Wonders. They mean it when they say they do it just to kill you. This is yet another joke, because they're all broke and could unironically use some decent loot.

To be fair, the spawns are still pretty broken. I've gotten turned around and forced back through my spawn by ARC/other players just to find someone else spawning in less than a minute later. They could probably cut the player count on Stella in half and still have tons of player engagement. I don't need 4-5 other raiders with me in every section of the map every second of the match. Maybe the pvp would feel more rewarding if you actually had time to loot a body or search a couple rooms after a firefight. The extremes of Ratkanda/Chungartha should not be necessary, especially when most players in both lobbies would prefer something in between.
tl;dr: I think lowering player density (mostly in Stella) would be healthier for all types of players.

Why are shields so bad? Like what is actually the point? They don't really "save" you from anything? Most engagements are decided very very quickly. Your shield is broken in the first literal 1 shot of the fight depending on the weapon, or ripped off in 5 hits by automatics like stitcher/torrente/etc. Not only is it useless in that sense because it protects you so little, you also take a % health damage too. So you have no shield to at all to protect you from bullets/etc hitting you, but also, your health is going to be so low that you can't even "fight" with no shield because a single extra stitcher bullet is all it will take to put you down.

Shields should at a very minimum protect you fully 100% from damage to your HP bar. If it takes 6 bullets to kill from a stitcher it should actually take more like 7-8 because your HP would still be 100% full.

Is the Arpeggio bad or am I bad with it? It seems to do absolutely NOTHING well. Slow ROF, not very good damage, burns ammo quick, needs attachments to be really useful (unlike il toro for example which is good no matter what), does not deal very high ARC damage. Like, what are you supposed to use it for? It isn't a great back up weapon in comparison to others either.

I find TTK posting in this thread completely disingenuous because everyone posting about it only uses the times for exclusively landing head shots at perfect range

especially since on every map other than stella montis engagement happen at a certain range that increase TTK because you're hitting a moving target while having to take horizontal recoil and ballistics into account

enemies CAN turn around and kill you, especially if you have like a rattler and they have a torrente then getting the jump doesn't mean shit if they're not static as fuck

It's "okay", and only because the 60% firerate increase is actually treated as a 60% decrease in firing delay which is closer to ~80% increased firerate (you HAVE TO upgrade it to IV because of that to make it usable). You NEED to have a good compensator on it because the bursts start flying everywhere after a bit.
Overall it's a great midrange weapon if you time your bursts, but it is absolutely not a solo weapon, you need a team that can cover your ass on close ranges; you can't really fit an extra weapon to fix the issues of the weapon either to run it solo as stitcher+ferro is a better choice every time.
The biggest pain point is absolute dogshit ammo economy at 9 damage per bullet and 80 bullets per stack.

Hitting just a few headshots already reduces the TTK to almost practically inactionable times. Sure you can react that you're being shot from, maybe even initiate a roll animation, but you're still going to die unless you're a single step from cover or you're being engaged from a medium-long distance.
Sure you might have lobbies with absolute shitters who miss entire magazines but fixing combat exclusively with aimlets in mind is wishful thinking.

I think the ammo economy can be that bad if the guns were "slightly above average with no specialty", but they are definitely below average.
Renegade is kinda the outlier here with top1 ammo efficiency in the entire game if I'm not mistaken.
