It really gives the feeling of a chain of history that keeps going, getting a little bit better for everyone each time. Haku doesn't have the baggage Hakuro did so he can play god without any of the schizo episodes, and he doesn't have to be alone this time. It leaves you just hungry enough while still believing everything worked out. Even the characters that died all got proper closure, which Nasu has no idea what that means anymore. Falling into a blackhole after someone can't lift you because you're fat isn't "her at least getting closure in the end".
