Even though I'm using a mod (I think it's Ancient Mega Pack?) that's changing many encounters, making them different, I want to have an experience like the old cRPGs where I had most of the cast at my disposal. Now, after years, I'm finding new banter lines and new interactions with the terrain and map.It definitely makes the gaming experience different. The map, except few exceptions, is not really designed for big traveling parties: some places that require jumping and micromanaging traversals are a pain in the ass. Having to manage twice as many characters doubles the encounter time, since I'm not minmaxing the characters but giving them specific roles. Shadowheart is the caster to buff the party, and I'd like to give Gale spells for nerfs and AoE instead. Now I can separate the party into small groups like a tabletop DND session. For example, I sent a small group of melee fighters to the grove, and then later I had Astarion sniping everyone from the cliffs. It's a way that makes playing a single-player game fun, at least for me.

Why play as a cleric when you're not going to get much unique stuff, and a party member takes over act two to go on and on about shar trials. Why play a wizard and compete with Mystra's Chosen in the party. I personally don't think this way, half my characters have been clerics and the other half have been wizards, but I'm guessing as to the poll results. I also think people are more likely to choose a charisma class because they see that as the "main character" or "talker/face", which they as the player want to be. A Hexblade dip - either one level or two levels if you really want an empowered EB - is also extremely efficient on a Swords Bard, meaning you get the best of both worlds. Pure Hexblade only has the advantage of flavor in my opinion, though that is a valid factor to consider.

I'll be honest as far as pure melee Warlocks go I still think Fiend is better. They get better spells and I think the temp HP on kill is more useful than the healing you get off of Hexblade's curse. Hexblade seems to work best as a dip. Only downside of Fiend is your AC won't be anything special for most of the game.

I tried co-op today and it is just....not fun? You don't really feel like part of the party due to the way the character interaction works and the main player misses out on a lot of the quips/character development due to split party members. It almost feels like it's supposed to be designed so you split apart and do sections separately.
