If you don't care about that then there should be no problems.Any characters/weapons you "missed" will be in weekly bosses or the shop. The only main timegated gameplay resources right now I think are twilight threads, prime blueprints, and consonance wedges. For those, it's not a big deal to miss it and continue progress when you return instead. Everything else can be infinite farmed.

Requires active play and co-op is beneficial but not mandatory. And it's an example of something these devs have already done, so they can certainly make content similar to that direction.
