We got a lot in the TOP for a single arc IMO.
I like Infinite Zamasu and even the timeline getting deleted but creating a new timeline instead of just having Whis use the SDB didn't make much sense AND raise the question of 'If Infinite Zamasu spread through all 12 universe, why didn't Toppo and Jiren just snap him in half?'
So it's kind of a catch 22 for me. You DEFINITELY need to use the Zeno button tho, it would make no sense to not use it after it was set up so blatantly. You need to at least dismiss it as a red herring like Daima did with the fusion bugs during the final battle.

i'd like them to write that out of the story entirely. i hate most of the Zamasu arc because of how mean-spirited it is to Trunks. it reminds me of something the Marvel editorial would write for Peter Parker because they fuckin' hate him. the Zamasu arc is Trunks "One More Day." there's absolutely no reason to annihilate his entire cosmos unless it's to bring him into the main timeline. and it wouldn't be as bad if anything bad happened to anyone else in DBS – but it doesn't. it's just Trunks whose life is fucking destroyed. and then the ToP just made it worse when Zeno demonstrated the ability to effortlessly restore the universes he obliterated (simultaneously). so i guess he just didn't feel like restoring Future Trunks universe after he wiped out the Zamasu-infected version.

The key to understanding the movies is that they were essentially remixing the canon (directly in DB, more creatively in Z). But whereas one Z era story arc would last a year or two, there were two self-contained movies per year. So they kind keep repeating the last interesting thing that happened. The most prominent Piccolo thing did in the Saiyan arc was saving Gohan. Then Namek happens, and he again explicitly wants to save Gohan. There's about a year between these instances in the manga serialization, but movies kept being churned out in the meantime, so Piccolo just kept saving Gohan. Genki Dama was Goku's strongest attack, and both its uses amin Vegeta and Freeza fights are worthy finishers (though Tori loved his twists and turns). So ut knda makes sense to use it as a finisher in a movie. Gohan defeated Cell with Goku's support from heaven? Let's repeat it two more times in movies.
