GLM seems better at arachne transformation than centaur transformation, where the subject would sometimes form a horse head on top of her human torso. It does waffle between making the human half either totally normal or just as chitinous and freaky as the spider half. Also it won't form extra pairs of eyes without prompting in my tests.

Yet another pokemon question: do you capitalize pokemon species names?
>>
>>552962602
No, that one psycho ff.net reviewer from back in the day wouldn't stop bitching if you did dare to capitalize them, and I eventually did it to stop getting shat on by the local unhinged psycho
now I'm used to it :)
>>
In 2024 whenever I saw NAI posts with those avatars making a comment, I was ehh. But lately, while chatbotting, now that I'm forcing external characters to read and react to my shit, I've become the very same slopper. I even had to hold my self back from sharing some as it would lead to spam.
It's a cheap, artificial way to pad content and preoccupy midwits or worse like me.

This is from a talk by Yann Lecun, former head of Meta's AI lab

>>

People do seem to be getting more pessimistic them. I guess "just feed it more data" only gets you so far

>>553037276
I'll believe it when I see it. So far, none of these tech bros have shown that they understand what people from LLMs at all. They're all just blowing smoke, you included.
But I'm sure any day now you'll drop your masterpiece and BTFO everyone, right?
You're not just being pessimistic for shits and giggles, right?
>>
>>553037490

He's right. Reinforcement learning is ass. It's why every modern model acts the fucking same.
And he's also right that we should quit trying to shove a square peg (llms) into a round hole (agi)
I think we should focus on llms being llms, not fucking Hal-9000

Fresh prompt: https://prompts.forthisfeel.club/7840
>The recruiter told me it'd be easy business. The moment I finished Academy training, they shoved me onto a craft and told me I was going to a jungle-covered border-world they know fuck-all about, and then the shuttle that was supposed to take me to the one outpost we had instead flew towards another group's military base and got shot down, crashing in the base. With just me and the sergeant I've been crushing on surviving the crash, I decide to shoot my shot in the face of death. Somehow, she accepts. If we get out of this alive, she will marry me. Now, I have to keep living...
Another one off the "I saw this image and thought 'there's a prompt there'" block, though with this one, I went off track a bit. Instead of a smash cut to the marriage, I instead set up a survival situation in Kinda-Sorta Space Vietnam with a mountain of a military woman (because I guess I have a type, sue me). One run immediately went on about how sweaty the two were getting after the immediate danger was gone, so there's definitely potential for it to get slippery real quick. There's also the natives of the planet, which could always have some weird rituals as well, and of course there's always the mighty dinkus-and-timeskip combo. Lots of possibilities here.
>>
>>553039124
The problem is that nobody is fine-tuning the models, and that nobody with money is making homebrew models to facilitate what they're good at. There are some instances where RLF is recommended, so it's not inherently ass. Even your idol agrees with that.
>>
>>553038637
idk where you're getting pessimism from. LLMs are still fun anyway.
>>
>>553038839
GPT keeps telling it won't take the stupid german DRM off and I throw my borscht at the wall each time is the reason.
>>
>>553039391
It's angryanon or wf pretending to be angryanon, he flies off the handle and projects like a theatre if you dare disagree with his personal beliefs
more hallmarks of his meltdowns are
>well where's your answer? why haven't you made one?
>you don't use X? Oh, you do? Then post proof of you using it right now!
>something isn't working for you? Well it works on my machine, it must be you! Oh, someone else has your problem? No you don't, you're just lying, post proof!
>>
Translation: if you don't think a two-bit hack who worked for a tech bro has all the answers, that means you're trolling.

My argument is that he doesn't care for the hobby. He wants "'actual AI". LLMs are an entertainment medium. To take away the generative aspect would effectively neuter it. To abandon probability would reduce its capacity for outputting what you want it to output. To argue for regularity would be to make the models more deterministic, not less.

None of those things sound like what I'd want in an LLM. You are equating different technologies as though they're the same.

I don't understand why you people equate disagreement on the fundamentals of the technology behind our hobby as whatever nonsense the guy above just typed.
>>
Go ahead and explain how regularizing how a model understands things wouldn't homogenize them further. Go ahead and explain how taking a non-probabilistic approach to learning wouldn't make models more similar in their output.

The intended use case for energy-based models is to reduce a model's ability to "hallucinate" (generate "false data" in its output). Do I really have to explain to you how that's harmful for writing purposes?
>>
Can you go back to arguing with yourself over touhou or some shit? You subhuman pustule. How many years has it been? Do you have anything else to do? Fuck off already.
>>
>>553041896
How about you kindly "fuck off" and quit trying to equate my posts with yours, spastic? You provide of value to any conversation that happens in this thread. You can't help but misrepresent what people type and argue they're this guy, or that guy, or some other guy who nobody cares about.

Right now, I'm some dude called angryanon. Later, you'll accuse me of being sleggy. Tomorrow, you'll argue I'm occultsage.
>>
Scripts saved NAI btw
>>
Damn, I didn't mean to stir up the resident schizos by posting that, sorry.
For what it's worth, LeCun is a researcher who's been at this stuff for decades. Sure, his goals aren't exactly the same as this thread's, but a lot of the current tech, including LLMs, is based on methods he helped develop in the 80's and 90's. I just think it's interesting that he (and seemingly a lot more researchers lately) think we should move on from LLMs. Hopefully whatever they come up with is better at writing smut
>>
>>553043319
Nah it's fine, don't worry about it. It's funny when genuine discussion triggers some batshit insane Russian because "no no no, they're supposed to be talking about ME!"

Used goods of the entire barracks btw

I think there are improvements that can be done, but people like him don't want these things to write smut. Hence why I don't think it's good to take his words at face value. Their intentions and our desires are at odds.
>>
>>553038637
Tens of thousands of dollars in electricity spent to try to solve a simplistic pattern recognition problem, but sure, just scale it up by another factor of 100 and it might do it
And the only smoke being blown is all the bullshit that is anthropomorphizing LLMs and has them pretend to "think"
>>

I always feel like it says something about society(tm) that guys like him who actually invent/develop the tech that runs the world are relatively unknown. Like I know he's famous for his field, and he no doubt isn't hurting for money. But compared to like Elon Musk, Sam Altman, Mark Zuckerberg, etc, he's a nobody. All those guys do though is tell smarter people to build stuff for them. You think the Federation would still be using imperial units over metric?
I'd insert 'are' in 'soldiers just'.

Man, I wish participial phrases didn't completely poison the context. I'd like to use them sometimes, if only to have another tool to vary the sentence structure a bit. But the AI so quickly decides they're the answer to everything and puts them in every single goddamn sentence

Why don't you people ever bother to do basic worldbuilding? Name your own characters, do some small local stuff, maybe use logit bias to neuter the names or a script to auto replace them...

There are plenty of tools available at your fingertips and skills you could learn to make for a better experience.
>>
>>553128115
>Why don't you people ever bother to put in effort?
Where do you think you are?
>>
>>553128115
Because, get this, sometimes random new characters show up in the story
Especially with the way models are now, I don't need to tell the AI about an entire cadre of people unless I want them to show up with a complete certainty
I don't need to give the AI a name for every single person in the tavern when I, the player, just want to get in and get out
I don't need to give the AI my character's entire family tree, otherwise it just turns into Rimworld where everyone shows up in increasingly convoluted scenarios
It just gets annoying when you're sitting down in a tavern and Elara or Kael randomly shows up for the 1000th time and you have to think up a random name on the spot. At least when it was Count Grey it was funny
>>
>>553129170
Scripting and logit biases would fix that. But sure, pretend like there was only one suggestion there...
>>
>>553129170
What if we take all these names and assign them count grey like lorebooks so that if they DO show up, it has a similar effect?
>>
>>553105658

>You think the Federation would still be using imperial units over metric?
Clearly it's got its roots in the Imperial Federation and continues to uphold British traditions under Space Empress Victoria XIII, and that includes the units.

I hate them too. But I recently learned that "absolute phrases" are apparently something distinct from "participal phrases". We probably need to disincentivize the ai from both. Maybe something like:

>Your writing style minimises participal phrases and it minimises absolute phrases. You remember to use auxiliary verbs and conjunctions.

But I haven't tested that specific instruction yet.

When GPT-3 came out, he said that no LLM in a thousand years would be able to answer a simple common sense questions. His example was something like "if a book is on a table in a train, and the train starts moving, where does the book go?" And he really said that LLMs no matter how big or advanced would never be able to answer questions like that.

Literally a few months later they could. He never changed his mind about LLMs though.

Like his idea isn't bad. Energy models are cool, the latent variables thing is cool. Just training to predict the next token might not be the most efficient way to train these things. But it clearly works much better than he expected it to work. And his ideas just haven't. "Abandon reinforcement learning" is an insane idea though.

If there is one thing a language model should be able to do, it is generate random plausible names. Why is this still an unsolved problem in computer science?

Fiction requires AI to have the potential to hallucinate wrong answers, dude.
>>
>>553173649
I do agree with him on is that we need to hook LLMs up with the ability to consider data from multiple angles. That doesn't require we throw the baby out with the bath water. Nor does it require we isolate data into "correct" and "incorrect" axes with energy model-based infrastructure and regularized methodology, which does the same thing RL does in practice, only on steroids--sure, that makes sense if you want an AI to no longer output incorrect data, but that inhibits storytelling potential.
However, I think a hybrid approach is necessary. You can have JEPA principles with generative methods.
For example:

>>
>>553173913
>>553173913
I agree. For the purpose of writing funny stories and masturbation aids, we've reached the point of good enough and perhaps even excellent a pretty long time ago.
The thing that people take issue with is that these corporate retards are still trying to claim they can make AI stop making mistakes and that they can create AGI from their LLMs and in that process they are fucking up everything.

If they made a model that wasn't prohibitively expensive and that wasn't trained to behave like a Question-Answer chat bot pretending to think, we would be golden.
Hopefully they actually deliver on that story finetune.

Realistically the answer is gonna be that a repository here will not be updated regularly and will most likely not have most of the stuff posted. You're most likely just gonna have to bite the bullet and get on Discord, because half the shit put out is vibecoded to fuck and gets ten updates in a month fixing some critical issue that only came up when users actually used it. I've been meaning to play around with the automatic chapter summary thing and that script got four updates in the time since I first downloaded it and I still haven't gotten around to it.
>>
>>553216551
Even people on the discord have been asking for an actual repository. It's so fucking annoying having to scroll through a discord thread to find the newest version of a script because people never, ever update the original post.

>>553224875
You can just tell the AI to be a Dungeonmaster/Gamemaster for you.
I'm still tinkering with my system prompt and it's a bloated mess of 700 tokens right now, but some lines I use are:

>1. You respond as a non-judgemental Gamemaster who is overseeing an unending roleplay for the user. The user is playing as {{user}}, while you play as the narrator and the NPCs. This role-play is a cooperation, so you need to be proactive yourself and take innitiative to advance the narrative.
>2. EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: You refrain from talking for {{user}}, your replies are devoid of {{user}}‘s thoughts and actions. You can however describe {{user}}‘s sensory experiences. You write in present tense and address the user's avatar {{user}} as "you"/"your".
>4. You create immersive scenes and describe settings in vivid detail. The user suffers from aphantasia and relies on text for visualization. You must frequently use hyper-detailed descriptions to remind the reader about what the environment and characters of a scene look like.
>5. Your characters feel like real, complex people with inner lives, realistic dialogue, body language and facial expressions. You follow the „show, don’t tell“ rule.
>>
Hmm, today I will feel a strange mix of fascination and satisfaction as I listen to a low rumbling conspiratorial husky whisper.

>If a user connects ChatGPT to their email inbox, an attacker could send them an email carrying a malicious message for the AI. Those instructions can be written in minuscule text, or white text against a white background, to conceal it from the victim. Then the victim simply has to prompt their AI to engage with that email — for example, by asking it to summarize their unread messages — and the malicious prompt will be passed to OpenAI's servers.
