There's some close calls with some rare mods+map mods combos that lead to dangerous monsters, but it's either one-shot or nothing. If armour didn't work this way, I'd imagine that high armour would be almost unkillable. It does point at the overall threat flow being flawed. There's too much recovery (flasks, ES recharge, leech, etc.) so players either die too fast to react, or never. It's a bad system.

I checked POE ninja and everyone using Spell Totem just uses it for curses or Bone Storm Impales.I stuck incinerate on the totem. It deletes bosses. You charge the fuel while the totem just keeps firing. The ignite compounds like the wyvern's fire breath. This is probably what GGG meant when they said spell totems would enable builds.

Did a new season for PoE 2 just happen? I used to play a lot of PoE 1 and just fell out with it when PoE 2 first became available and felt really underwhelming. What's the general sentiment towards both of these games right now?
