36th for hospital
Probably the most extensive hospital I've ever made, and it's not even high tech.
This hospital was completed back in 5508 and has seen several additions since.
Features 26 beds in the expansive main structure, a large amount of storage space for simple prosthetics and other similar items, a hefty amount of industrial medicine, a stock of penoxycyline and blood bags, its own public bathrooms, drug lab, mortuary, training classroom, grow space for heal root, and an apartment for live-in surgeon Karl and his wife and child. It also has a small cubby for the colony's comms console because there was nowhere else to put it when the need to have it came.

Anyone know of any mod that removes the drafted order range limit on mechs?

I'm doing a cozy Lost in Space style settlement that'll be just one family, starting from 1 married couple. I want to be able to handle raids entirely with mechs but the only option for deploying them in an organized manner without the draft range limit is to manually zone them closer to enemies and change their zone assignments, and that's too clunky for me.

My colony tile is kinda shit as I've come to realize. It's too marshy. Not enough rich soil. And the shallow sea hits the border which means they can spawn raids literally ontop of me, even without drop pods.

So, how would one go about migrating to a new colony with minimal headache? I don't got drop pods or a spaceship.

Leave it all behid. Most of the difficulty is in having to pack a million items onto animals while your colonists have a meltdown over being tired and hungry.
Take only the resources that are hard to get, common stuff can be gathered on the new tile. Maybe make a bunch of survival meals in advance.
Other than that it's just finding a better tile, map preview or a similar mod would make that easier.

The absolute easiest way is probably to mass-tame pack animals like muffalo so you can load up as much weight as possible and caravan to a new map. The info tab on an animal will say if they're pack animals or not.

You can also take the Mechanoid Signal quest to get a basic gravship platform, pack as much onto it as possible, waste no room or resources on life support for your pawns, then use it to just move everything to a new map tile in one go and start fresh. Do it in the morning so you have all day to rebuild at your new location.

I've had some fun making colonies where the core town hall/sanctuary/food, medicine, and weapon stockpiles, etc, were all on a gravship platform at the heart of the town, so I could evacuate the settlement with all of my pawns and most of my key infrastructure and resources, abandoning everything else, if shit hit the fan and there was no saving the base.

I'd send shuttle expeditions out for gravcores and slowly expand the platform to encompass more and more of the town. Eventually you end up with ALL of your core buildings and workshops and stockpiles in the ship and capable of flight, so all you're leaving behind if you have to move are the big living accommodations and crops fields you can't fit on a max-size 2000 tile ship.

In the game settings there is one for max colony count, if you increase it you can do it just like you want. Start a second colony and send people over to bring resources or build. The game isn't made to handle multiple colonies performance-wise though, so you should abandon the first colony sooner than later.

That's why I mentioned the gravship. You can cover the platform in shelves and send thousands of bricks over all at once instead of needing dozens of pack animals or dozens of trips to move them all. When I use it this way, I envision it as more like a levitating wagon or carriage than an actual ship.

I've used my ship as a mobile mining rig before.

If the shelves and stockpiles on the ship are set to "Low" priority and you mirror the layout at your home base and set the storage facilities there to "Normal" priority, all of your haulers will offload everything on your ship into your port storage facilities when you land. Then you can take off and do it again.

There's a lot of flexibility in moving resources and pawns with a gravship, even if you intend to mostly play on the same map and build a sprawling colony.

That's fucked up. Is it added by a mod or something? From what I remember, the vanilla game is pretty comprehensive about consolidating it under "my child..." so you don't get double the mood penalty. You can even see it in that screenshot with "My children are unhappy."

Finn put himself at serious risk firing a HEAT charge from his RPG at the incoming Termite, but the real problem was the rest of the mechs rushing us into close combat when the Termite exploded.
AP ammo will damage them but it doesn't do much per hit which is a hell of a problem when a scyther is rushing in to chop your limbs off.

Animals are pretty much always easy to deal with if you have ranged weapons and 4+ pawns. But you can make things more difficult for yourself with More Injuries: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3348840185
and/or Grievous Wounds: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3459265518

More Injuries makes it really dangerous to get shot or stabbed and Grievous Wounds gives damage overflow to all damage types, similar to how blunt weapons work. Which means that if you shoot someone in the eye with a sniper it will destroy the eye but unlike in vanilla, the rest of the damage 'spreads' to adjacent body parts. Which in this case is the head.

Also you can always tweak the map generation to contain almost no resources.

I have 2 metalhorrors, 1 devourer and 1 noctol all with the same cell setup as the revenant but none of them ever escaped containment except the revenant who just escaped for the third time. unless an entity (or prisoner, or slave) can't physically move there's always a chance each day they'll try to escape. Something like 'escape interval 3 years' just means that on average the revenant will escape once every three years. But you can still get bad RNG so it escapes once or twice a year if you're unlucky.
