I had to bypass the Beast of Nurgle and rescue the guys and I was being shot at by perfectly fanned out ranged enemies the whole time. Anyway the context was all for this next part: After I got them up I immediately went back to go help the guy fighting the beast of Nurgle and we basically 2 manned it because the two people I rescued, I guess, got caught up fighting some mini horde and completely forgot a monstrosity was active.

I actually love darktide, as well as both vermintides in the past. Normally I would gladly buy dlc they release, and I do own all the classes and cosmetic upgrades for vermintide and arbites.But I just genuinely, honestly have zero interest in a hive ganger. There's a list of about a dozen things you can put into a game like darktide that would be more interesting, and would have more fun cosmetics to sell as well. This is honestly a flop in my subjective opinion in both gameplay mechanics and character/cosmetics/flavor. The rocket launcher is cool I guess. Apparently the distance you can push the burster depends on whether or not it is aggroed on you, so if you aren't the target and you push its only like half the distance. You need to dodge backwards twice to fully escape it when that happens, and the fuckers will change who the target is right before jumping so even if you're closer you only get the half push.
I'm a new player, leveled Veteran to 30 and it was good and fun. Decided to try out Psyker and I'm just fucking dying left and right while going through early difficulties, did I miss some "pick this to not explode" talent node? I feel like it wasn't this bad at early Vet levels.

If you're using a staff with super low warp resistance (its the dump stat on your weapons at 60), buts if its too low you'll easily peril yourself. Playing psyker really forces you to get good at positioning, melee, dodging, blocking, etc. Early psyker leveling try taking assail for super good ranged killing of groups of gunner and tougher enemies, it falls off in effectiveness after heresy but at that point you'll have better weapons and skill points. And a one handed force sword with deflector, if you get caught in the open you can block ranged attacks with a reduced block cost to get to cover.
