I've completely avoided automatic farms (I broke this rule recently with a bee farm that auto-harvests using a daylight sensor just because of how tedious manual, free-range bee farms are). If I gather a surplus of a block, I use it to craft or build with. I haven't needed an iron farm because I don't need pistons or anything else like that. I think I've crafted under 12 dispensers, because again, I haven't needed them (it's those fucking bees, man).Last world, I found that I was building farms in order to build more farms. I didn't really need any of the materials for the creative projects that I was working on, just for the next automatic farm to make.
