I remember when the explosion used to be an afterthought and most of the damage came from the impact of the bolt itself. They had no clue what they were doing with the thing and added the One-Handed attribute to it for seemingly no reason. But now, not only does the impact of the bolt do less damage than the explosion, but the explosive radius turns it into a crowd cleaner.Yeah, before the buffs it was basically just a worthless novelty that was worse than the Eruptor in its weakest iterations (after they removed the Airburst shrapnel and before the explosive component was buffed to compensate), but they really should have moved in a different direction with it. The silent projectile aspect had potential, they should have moved more in that direction, like give it heavy stagger to counterbalance the slower projectile speed and then give it two explosions, a very small radius AP3 one that only really affects the target and a wider AP2 one (which it used to have) that does area damage but to a lesser extent than what the primary target suffers. Then it becomes a single target weapon again, does huge damage to one target to reward aim and then incidental crowd control from the explosion. Not be a pocket grenade launcher in the primary slot.And then give it a firing mode option to disable the explosion so that it becomes an actual stealth weapon.
Remember when the thermite grenade was released ? Shit was practically just some useless fireworks.
