It's not really a storage problem. I have a substation with the max storage. It's just a problem with flux points refusing to pass power on new flux points. I'm just not sure if it's because I've used 200+ or it's a power transfer/storage limit. I already have them all bypassing limit. I can start power surging them, but that sounds like a pain to activate on all 200 of them.

So, I created my own texture for smart fluid pipe (Pipez mod) and it work like a charm, but could some of you good sires enlighten me how ot make the fluid flowing through the pipe visible?
I have enough brain cells to comprehend the basics of json files (which I assume can be used for this), but I'm too much of a brainlet to figure out how to make it work in details...

Why? Looks perfectly fine to me.
It's resonably compact while also being pretty obvious what;s doing what and what goes where. Plus it's allow sensible access to all parts. The water supply and transport could be probably make a bit smaller, but it's by no mean eyesore or mess right now.
I seriously don't get the overwhelmingly autistic strive to make everything cramped into 3x3 area, making it looking like an unholly tangle of blocks, pipes and cables, where any attmpt in aleration require complete rebulid of the whole contraption. It's like modern electronics - 'no user serviceable parts inside' and everything is encased in solid block of plastic resin.
You have the fucking whole world at your disposal, make use of this space so you can approach your machines to service, maintain and expand them instead of just blowing the whole shit up and then rebuilding it from scratch because it will be faster that trying to untangle that absolute mess you created.

There's some inefficiency in my build, but it allows me to just look at it from some specific angle, seeing how it work and admire how things are processed? That's percect for me.
Shit's not fully automated, but require some human interaction from tme to time to keep it running? As long as it don't have catastrophic consequences for the rest of my stuff, I'm absolutely OK with it.
Processing/producing something is not 100% self-contained and renevable, runniig out of resources at some point? Not a problem, one more reason to explore the world, prospect for resources and build a supply network to keep my factory running.
MC is an open world made from digital lego bricks, ffs. There's no one 'right' way to play it. Put your shit together in a way that is giving you the most fun and don't care about anything else

That's exactly what gets boring about it, it is an incredibly fun experience when you survive with nothing and have to be on the run at all times, but the second you can do anything at all to fight back (last time I played was with Iron's Spells, and before that I believe it was a few sword mods + apotheosis, all of them with several other difficulty mods) then dealing with them becomes a chore, you kill 10, try to build something for 10 seconds then 10 more spawn

Really liked Tinkers Construct & Constructs Armory, Witchery, Roots & Embers, Thermal series, Ender IO but I dont want to be stuck in the past.

5/10, pretty meh.
80% of the quests (and really the whole modpack) is about bugs and creepy crawlies than actual horror entities. By late game, I was happy seeing Herobrine, Cave Dweller and Man from the Fog etc. since I was so sick of bugs.

Quests are also seem out of order sometimes, like why do I need to collect shark teeth just before the current final quests of the pack, why did you put the Bug Repellant quests after I had to go through enough bugs to repopulate Earth? Why did I have to kill some desert Scorpions after I went through the end boss, Draconic Voidcutter or something, I could have done those after I got my first diamond sword.

Also, weapons are way underpowered compared to what you face. Even if their names are cool.
Nitpick: pocket dimension is so ugly that I would never, ever use it.

TLDR: It should be called Crawling Horror Project, because all I see is bugs. Lore is cool but honestly, bugs aren't cool enough for it.

Sometimes I get a tinge of FOMO for only playing 1.12, and sometimes this FOMO gets so bad that I decide to try and throw together a new version TOYMY but then I scroll for hours in curseforge and modrinth and basically all I see that looks even halfway decent is create addons and some nicer worldgen mods, and then I think that I’m not going to give up my huge 1.12 kitchen sink for just create and nothing else.

When I played Dragon Quest Builders on the PS Vita, I really enjoyed how structures would be recognised as buildings, how depending on their furnishings, rooms would be designated functions, and how NPCs would move in and act accordingly.
I really miss this in Minecraft where building often feels pretty pointless since (You) don't need much space and villagers are very limited.
Are there any mods that add some similar mechanics to the game, where you can designate functions or labels to structures and rooms and there are NPCs who react to this in some meaningful way?

Around 60-70 hours for my first (and only) playthrough. Mostly because Crawling dimension is shitttttt, I want to burn it to the ground, traveling in there is shit, bugs there is shittttt and grinding full Infernal and Umbral set is a pain in the ass. I had to make bases towards the Crawling Castle since it was 3000 blocks away from my main base and I had to make numerous bases in the Crawling dimension.

Without a supply chain, you will suffer. A single death also means you have to travel thousands of blocks in the overworld and the Crawler dimension to get your stuff back. And good luck if you get fucked over by a Mothman spawning while you are trying to get your stuff back.

newer version "equivalents" I feel often aren't properly equivalents because they don't capture the unintended jank of older mods that are as central to their identity as their intended functionality.
Minecraft modding has hit the same stage that skyrim modding has where everybody is focused on polish and presentation but a lot of the charm of older version mods came from strange, unintended and unexpected mod integrations.
For instance, in my 1.12 TOYMY, I had a problem: I needed lots of bricks to build shit with. So I did what I usually do and scanned through JEI to find an easy way to make clay without digging it up. Turns out there's a machine in heat and climate that allows you to make clay by grinding sand with a titanium hammer plate. This same machine and hammer plate also lets you turn cobble into gravel and gravel into sand, so I set up a system with chests and Thermal Expansion servos to recursively feed cobble into the grinder until it becomes clay, and I got the cobble from a cobblegen hooked up to the grinder. This process produces a lot of lime dust and flint. Through some more scanning through JEI, I found out that I can feed the lime dust into a mekanism CE unofficial recycler which turns it into scrap which can then be used to craft a lootbox that has random resources in it. Flint can be pulverized in a mekanism crusher (and ONLY in a mekanism crusher) to make gunpowder. Crafting flint and gunpowder obtained from flint together makes EFLN, which is a mining explosive from tinkers construct.
So from cobblestone and electricity alone, I'm making bricks, dynamite, and lootboxes.

Decided to build these astral multiblocks at the top of the hill where my aether portal entrance was, I wanted them out in the air for thematic reasons (even though the aether is perma-day until you kill the sun god).
The best part of this is I made them for a book enchantment (quick draw) that's bugged to give venom - thankfully, I'll need them later (if I ever make it that deep).
Next project is blood magic will (which I've done before) and some ice and fire dragonforge stuff (that i've never done).

Entities can't be glued, only put on seats and chairs. The tall bar stools from furniture mod are just a bit less than 1 block tall and easy to hide with carpet.
If this still isn't enough for your ambitions then you might be ready for VMod and Clockwork. With the VTool you can weld any entities together like in Source engine GMod, after placing a ship helm on both that is.

any contraption can work. having an inventory block like a chest in a contraption makes any dropped blocks go into the inventory. portable interfaces can get the items out of the contraption.

windmill is the easiest and generates a bit of power.
mechanical bearings can be faster than windmills but use stress instead of generating stress.
minecart contraptions with power rails are decent for back and forth motion, but might stop moving when loading and unloading chunks.
the sticky piston thing also works but it needs redstone.
train contraptions generally need more space and need to be automated with schedules.

the point is that the drill is part of the windmill contraption, i.e. glued to the windmill parts that move.
this uses harvesters for crops, but the same idea applies. the windmill block is at the top, right under the andesite casing with torches, and everything underneath spins around.

Hi, new to gtnh, entering hv age and noticed that each up tiered generator is less efficient than the previous one. Transformers don't seem to have any energy loss. Doesn't that mean that 32 lv gas generators, transformered up to high voltage, is far more fuel efficient (and easier to build given my abundance of mob farm'd steel) than 1 hv gas generator? lv redstone alloy cable is also drastically easier to make than mv or hv superconducting cable, meaning I could centralize my power generation, run BIG, THICK cables around, and then transformer it up at destination. I can see this getting unreasonable at tiers higher than hv (ev would need 128 lv generators per amp), but I imagine I'm going to be building some fancy multiblock generators by then anyway.

All gregtech blocks that output any kind of EU are lossy, it's incredibly minimal and a nothingburger but it exists.

Minecraft is stuck with a lot of bad decisions from its 15 years and fighting never feels good and while some mods add cool looking structures very rarely does a basic mod setup ever satisfy with loot.

my thoughts on the crystals is if the pack really needs you to have thousands or millions of them, either because other mods require extensive ae2 networks or large storages, they will provide much better ways of obtaining the crystals. Either mystical agriculture, bees, or even just the extremely common game of "find a way to move the flawless crystals back to your base so you can collect a lot of them".
I didn't mind the little automation challenge presented by needing to replace the bad budding crystal clusters when they were depleted, it was fine with just ae2 tools, and with growth accelerators it made enough for a while. Essentially, unless you are dealing with an insane amount of items and storage issues, the amount of crystals vanilla nu-ae2 provides should be more than enough. And if it's not, give a better way to make them.
Overall its retarded though I prefer old ae2.

Turns out crafts and additions has the large and small connectors specifically for pulling and pushing FE, much better to work with than the altenator and can easily tweak the recipe to fit within TMFG's electrical stage

Isn't ideal that they both use wire spools but at least the overlap ends at copper so I guess I can justify only having gold or electrum

Been thinking about playing some 1.2.5/1.7.10/1.12.2 technomagic modpack but idk what to choose. Would be nice if it was something with a good quest book like MC Eternal, and didn't have shit mods like Ice and Fire, so not MC Eternal.

Oh yeah, and no GregTech. Too long winded for my taste, I've been playing GTCEu 1.12.2 and got stuck at around EV since there's just too much shit to micromanage and automate at once and I got burnt out. Some classic magic single blocks like IC2 or TE would be preferred.

I think we were both thinking of advanced rocketry. It changes how planets look in the skybox (and I think it also changes the night sky to have nebulae), but has an option to revert the overworld to the vanilla skybox in the config.

If you’re on 1.12 and want a simple gun mod that ties into tech progression, I will again shill ALGANE (A Laser Gun And Nothing Else). Simple but highly-modifiable gun that shoots RF. It’s a makenism addon, as it uses mekanism stuff like alloys and reactor glass to build.
