Trying to romance Shart as a selunite but delaying the shar worshiper reveal as long as I can. So far cleared the overworld part of Act 1 and managed to avoid her spilling the beans. Underdark I think doesn't have any potential reasons for her to divulge that and I think both grymforge and the creche should be clear so its looking like I might be able to delay it til shar's gauntlet. That said the game really doesn't account for it, basically all dialogue relating to the romance implies she's already told me about her goddess or her dark justiciar dream. Honor mode, additional encounters with reward xp turned off, tactician enhanced giving enemies extra hp and actions, and self imposed challenges like no barrelmancy, no entering/exiting combat in an unrealistic manner, no teleporting to camp in a situation where you couldn't cast recall, no magical pockets, no unrealistic distracting vendors to pickpocket, no unrealistic minor illusion use, and every other cheese where you ask yourself if this is realistic or whether a gm would allow you to do it.All of these hoops to jump through makes a reasonable challenge, mostly tactician enhanced.bg3 is easy generally speaking since 5e is pretty simple and most encounters don't try to trick you, but with mods and some self imposed rules you can make the game reasonably challenging.I remember with all my mods and self imposed challenges Raphael in particular got pretty dicey. Normally an ice wizard just makes him trip and the fight is a joke but a mod was giving him insane saves so he could do all his mechanics and that was a close one. Very fun. This one goes against the spirit of the spell and circumvents an intentional and important balancing aspect of Warding Bond, so I think most people agree this one is outright cheese, even if you are okay with wither robots casting the other stuff. Those other ones are just saving you a spell slot, whereas this one is directly circumventing an important balancing drawback.There's also creating a wither's robot wizard who's only job is to brew potions and fish for the wizard subclass that has a chance to double potion brewing.Basically, just like with the other list of things, ask yourself if this is realistic or whether a human gm would allow you to do this. That pretty cleanly answers all questions of if something is cheese. You can break this game as much as you want and then complain it's easy, or you can go with several self imposed rules of not doing cheesy things and it feels more satisfying. You can use your own intuition and judgement to decide what is cheesy vs satisfying for you, it's all up to you, the beauty of videogames.

Kept myself oblivious to shadowheart's shar worship for as long as I could but start of act 2 seems to be the hard-cutoff as even when out of the active party next time I talk to her she tells me and even calls attention to the fact that she sucks at keeping secrets. It was interesting to see some of the alt dialogue prior to that point but oh well guess thats done. On a side-note for whatever reason it also led to the shadowheart vs lae'zel night time event finally triggering. Dunno if coincidence since I don't see why knowing she worships shar would be the trigger for that

>>553787220In general, CHA is overrated when it comes to dialogue checks. Barbarians get plenty of easier Intimidation checks, effectively a built-in CHA bonus most of the time. Rogues get Expertise, effectively a +8 CHA bonus at level 9. WIS characters get a few free checks as long as they can pass the passive Insight check.

The idea that one would post on a Japanese cartoon board to "look good." It's an anonymous website. Maybe my post reads like pedantry to you, but that was not the intent. "I ascended Astarion" shifts his agency to the player character - they're the one "ascending" Astarion instead of letting him decide whether to commit the biggest mistake of his unlife. Of course the intended meaning is understood, but the meaning conveyed is another matter. I care about these things because I have a habit of calling a certain companion a non-character, precisely because he lacks agency. But Astarion is certainly a character, and the player character is therefore not the one "ascending" him like they would an object. So we have to be precise about these things, and I expect (perhaps naively) that others might care.
