So it was an easy decision, you choose the one that still has stuff, over the one that was literally finished and happy.If we needed yet a third reason this scene didn't make sense, Halsin is not tadpoled and can walk away from camp whenever he wants, while Minthara instantly dies the second she leaves camp.So it was a neat idea but someone thought about it for a second and realized there are multiple reasons it doesn't really make sense to force or makes him look bad.To be fair, low-charisma Tav does sort of have to choose between Shart and Lazy. If you fail a few checks during the night confrontation, one of them does die. But it's hard to do accidentally.

I decided to finally go back and finish my final run and wtf is with the end of Wyll's questline? Up until act 2 things were ok, then we get to act 3, rescue the counselor who knows Wyll since he was a kid, saw him in Act 1 rescuing her, in Act 2 chasing after the cult and his father and in act 3 where he rescues her again and restores her hope, only for her to come back 10 minutes later because a literal devil told them he has sacrificed his father... who's still alive and can be saved with no issues? and then after being convinced that she was being a total retard she proceeds to instantly 180 and call him a hero and ask him to go awaken an ancient dragon she had never mentioned previously?Did they forget to end his quest and then remember at the last minute and just throw shit together? out of all the quests in act 3 his feels by far the most schizophrenic and rushed.

It could be that Mizora was supposed to be a bigger player in act 3 and more involved with politics and perhaps Gortash, maybe all of this was meant for the upper city and they had to wrap it up another way one it got cut. Could also be that they just didn't give much attention to Wyll's quest since they were aware he wouldn't really be a popular character. The thing that's curious with the pact is that unlike the Shadowfell where the scene you mentioned requires unusual player actions, the act 3 pact is kind of a nothingburger regardless of what the player does, because she has no connection to Ravengard other than Wyll himself and the final offer boils down to be her slave forever to save dad now or don't be her slave forever and the situation remains effectively the same. There are no real stakes. Maybe if Wyll's original contract had involved Ravengard directly, but since it didn't the whole thing just feels hastily stitched together.

What's the recommended sequence of places to go to for Act 1? I've been trying to kill the false paladins for Karlach but they kick my fucking ass within a single round. The paladin with the greatsword smites twice in a row and can down absolutely anyone in the party, if not both at the same time, and then the shop woman runs in and throws something that instakills everyone in a big area.
