I just don't understand how the difference between youtube videos of war thunder and my gameplay is so drastic. Is it a garbage meme plane, or is it one of those planes whose BR will be artificially low due to the average retard trying to dogfight in it while the few players who properly leverage its strengths are obnoxious menaces? HE can help twist the knife and make them die a bit faster by helping catch things on fire or make them take on water a bit faster.>Draining their crew supply when you lack good angles to penetrate something important with APHEWhen I say you can't hit something important, I mean you don't have a good shot at something really deadly like an ammo room or boiler room. It can be hard to aim and take some getting used to because you're trying to aim where the missile will penetrate vertically by aiming horizontally. It shows you where to aim to hit the plane if he continues maintaining his current speed and heading for the next 1.25 seconds. 1.25 seconds is a huge amount of time. If he's diving then he's accelerating and the aim indicator won't be accurate because it's assuming that he will maintain his current speed (he's not, he's speeding up). You're too slow to bomb bases before teammates bomb them or enemies intercept you. You don't have enhanced optics to leverage your laser guided missiles to full effect. You don't have TV guided weapons with standoff ranges. The R60's, while agile, are one of the easiest missiles to defeat with flares. Your turning circle/stall speed are tighter/slower than many jets, but your thrust to weight ratio is ass and any opponent that knows how to dogfight will run circles around you. While there are a lot of retarded seals that it can club, you are basically dependent on the opponents being retarded to have a good match in the thing. You don't really feel in control of your own destiny when flying those early Su-25s.The later series Su-25s give you more control over your fate. The R-73s are legitimately near unflareable at close range. TV guided weapons can engage ground targets from safe standoff ranges. Enhanced optics with auto-trackers let you use your long range laser guided missiles as ghetto fox-1s. While not meta, the laser guided missiles are completely immune to flares/chaff/multipathing and do not trigger RWR. It is not uncommon to see players fail to take appropriate defensive measures since it is just too uncommon for them to be engaged via laser guided missiles. Many players combine flares with low altitude flying to cover their asses from fox-2s and fox-1s.
