Charr feel like a missed opportunity lore wise. From the very start of GW2 it was dumb. The black citadel should have been a monument to a new major group of charr willing to join the other factions. Icebrood saga didn't feel new, it felt like what the playable charr situation should have been in the first place.

It's totally skippable, don't worry about it. The big reward at the end is a single Ascended accessory with set stats when you can get selectable ones any time you want from Living World maps, and it has a +10 Agony infusion which is like 10g to replace with much cheaper options if you're willing to use more than one Infusion slot.
If you want to do it just for completion's sake it's a couple hours of Fractals if you player the higher-tier ones and maybe another hour or two if you just want to spam Quickplay.

my favorite xpac. i think this whole story and its build-up (LW1-2) was the most interesting and engaging designs/storytelling i've had in a game. the whole entire world around us changed and affected places we hung out in--the lion's arch destruction and rebuild, different events in starter and secondary zones, the way NPCs would react and have new dialogue--led up to an expansion, not just "you get an expansion, you get an expansion, and you get an expansion!" even though a loud minority of people were being autistically angry at taimi and scarlet, the whole living world crescendoed into a jarring opener of an expac. i still love doing dragon's stand and spending time reflecting on how neatly everything fell into place. i don't think IBS' opener into EoD had the same energy or impact on a changing world.
