Every time i think about making an overhaul server mod (or these days, full game mod), I get hung up on the Medic. In TF2's design he is interesting, but simply too powerful. A team with no medics is almost guaranteed to lose against a team that has a half-decent med and someone for him to heal. It feels like even having an engi on defense is less important than having a medic at all.

Engineer is an engaging obstacle to overcome because you know it took him a while and lots of resources to build up his nest, so when you finally kill him, you know you put a meaningful dent in their defense. He's also at the mid/backline of an enemy team, fully visible, so he's always within engagement distance of every class outside of like scout, pyro, and demoknight. With sniper, you kill him and then he's back within 15 seconds to remain just as oppressive as before with no setup. He's also usually at the backline, or even further back, and there's nobody that can engage with him at range except other snipers. It's like if you mowed your whole lawn and then it grew back to full height the next day -- the effort vs the result feels wasted.

The fact the homewrecker can do extra damage to sentries is probably not something you will likely see in actual gameplay, and it's certainly not something to Pyros specifically equip to deal with nests. Wtf is a melee weapon supposed to do against 2 sentries? The flamethrower is probably better at dealing with nests, ubered or not.
