Hi, I'm Zach, 20, from Australia, struggling JOP (i've been learning this fucking language since I was 13 i'm still shit at it), etc. I especially love the work of SCA-DI and Ikuhara Kunihiko. I'm very fond of short-films, lost media, old ova's, historical/iconic otaku culture & whatnot. All that being said, they aren't very accessible, so recommendations are always rly welcomed and appreciated.Also, Sakuuta really struck a chord with me because it elicited a more unique poignancy akin to heartbreak. Five years after reading it, SCAji managed to win me over again with that same feeling in Toki. No other story of any type has better captured that grief. And with the roll of the credit art's visual storytelling, a sort of visceral, melancholic acceptance of all that was said and done finally bubbled up to accompany it. サクラノ is, really, a story with the purpose of breaking the heart and putting it back together, which is bound to leave some stiches and scars that won't fade, but will heal.
