>>555012347It hits too close to home in regards to the replacement migration of browns into Western countries.Mere suggestion that someone should not embrace diversity tm, even in vidya form, makes them doubleunplusgood.
>>555007096People disagree because this post has nothing to do with the problem that was being discussed.Planets back then could only grow one pop at a time. And the game would always choose the species with the lowest population to grow. So eventually, no matter the factors around it, you would end up with 50/50 demographics. No matter if immigration is closed, or if the minority is slow breeders while the majority is rapid breeders. 20 human pops + 1 alien pop would always turn into a 50/50 split after enough time.
I simply choose not to play games with ayylmaos
Semi-related, how tedious is it to do a genocide run in Stellaris? Wiping out every single alien you encounter, having zero of their population alive as you conquer their planets.
>>555027770conquering every planet and having to manage them is the tedious part, the genocide is done automatically. if you're a genocidal then you get access to armageddon bombardment which can wipe out a world without invading, but it can be pretty slow
>>555027770Worst way to play the game. Runner up is full xenophile will a bunch of species management.

To put >>555044729 in context, 112 is the default damage. BUT the halberd has a +100% damage against light infantry, and T1 infantry has around 140-150 HP, so... that hastati oneshot everything.
>try another land battle>rush stables to get early cavalry>somehow it works and I manage to cripple the enemy economyI was a fool, all these years. Cavalry IS good, just easily countered, but it can deal terrible, terrible damage.
>Roman Republic medicus can cast "terror">"terror" means summoning a bear that lowers enemy defenseUnderstandable, bears are terrifying.
Fun fact: Ancient War relies on different tiers of units. The Roman Republic has hastatis, Princeps, and Triaria, with every new tier having more HP and better armor.HOWEVER, by default, the damage output is NOT buffed, meaning that a hastati will deal as much damage as a triaria or even a praetorian.Henceforth, I give two-handed weapons to my hastati, since the loss of a shield is a massive defense debuff, and hastatis aren't as expensive as princeps. These guys appear semi-naked, but if you're not careful, they will murderfuck your units.
Mounting an unit on a horse will give it different buffs. Naturally, they're a lot faster and get a meat shield, BUT they also get a damage bonus, at the price of a lower attack speed. That princeps is given a spear and told to kill, and he does so wonderfully.
Enough of this. Let's kill.Chariots, and cavalry supported by belly ballistas, attaaaack!

Same hastati, but with a T3 shield and a spear.DE differs from HD, you are required to research the damage/shield upgrade before unlocking new weapons.
>>555064538What's the "new unit" meter for? Is that like experience?
>>555064903Oh, yeah. You're mistaking "niveau" (level/floor) and "nouveau" (new).
>>555065030All units start at level 0, and can level up to level 3. You can use captives to get experience (if you have built a garrison, then every 5 kills will get you 1 captive that you can then sell or use for XP), with of course low-level infantry getting more experience.

>>555393324I know this one was made by Lionhead that's why I choose it for my studio's name. Hollywood Animal is okay. It's still in early access, there's already a lot to do but you are limited to the 30's and 40's I think. You don't actually get to see your movies but on the management and ui side it is a lot better than The Movies. Lionheads ui sucked and it was almost impossible to manage more than 7 actors. In Hollywood Animal it is much easier to manage a lot of staff.
>>555393910yeah, i loved the movie editing and seeing it all come together in The Movies, it was really fun and satisfying. as an adult i'd be more interested in the management sim. i cannot help but love that art deco aesthetic, honestly the UIs in this game look sexy. i'll give it more time to cook but i like what i see.

>>555506952I bought it on sale and realized they never changed the game lobby options. But also because Titans became the new game enders, and some Titans become busted due to God's myth unit upgrades. But also because Myth Units become the game enders themselves, replacing normal military due to a hidden mechanic with the Wonder, and balance changes of Myth units doing more damage to each other. God powers can be recast, but due to faction imbalance of Favor resource acquisition they are annoyances which makes the Greeks and Chinese overpowered.Titans don't regenerate HP or can be healed, but some upgrades to allow myth units to self heal effect titans. >>555715623>How does the game balance for some areas being rural vs urban and having more stores and shitNTA, and I'm the one that started playing it.It seems it doesn't. And if I adapt buildings, they are so big that they need around 400~ crates of metal and wood. So I'm making smaller custom wooden buildings. Will keep making invite broadcasts and letting people reproduce until I hit 500 survivors. When the only thing linking the wannabe Relic(or whatever they choose to call themselves) of today and "Homeworld 3" to anything that came before it is simply the names Relic(or Gearbox I guess) and Homeworld, that means nothing. They inherited something from their betters, and then proved why they are the inferior ones. That does not make it equal to what came before.

>>556229942I mean, from a metanarrative standpoint it's weird. Prior to the PT Anakin's just the bad guy dad who gets redeemed by saving his son; while Anakin physically kills the Emperor, it's Luke's actions that save the day and old Ben and Yoda are placing their hopes on Luke and Luke alone. After the PT they really ramp up the idea that Anakin is Force Jesus who got corrupted by Sith Satan, with kid Ani having the highest midichlorian powerlevel ever known and Shmi having him through a virgin birth, but it's also implied both that the PT Jedi are fallible AND that Luke has the same amount of force potential as his dad. Lucas expands on his ideas of Anakin being a fallen chosen one through Gennedy's Clone Wars and TCW, with the former having a fun silent arc where Anakin fulfills some sort of cave painting prophecy and the latter having Anakin literally combat metaphysical embodiments of the living force. What all this spergery is about is that, taking the OT alone at face value when it was released, there's enough evidence to interpret Luke as being a chosen one at least prior to ol' George revealing Anakin was the chosen one.Anyway I really should play Galactic Battlegrounds or Empire at War some time.

>>556286696>I have given China to the aliensGood, colonization is horrible.
>>556194667I want to like the desert but the actual camera doesn't pan out more. Like half of the range contact fights take like more than half the screen to capture. The units TTK is also a bit too fast for anything tactical.
>>556130952>Any tips on how to not suck on early game? The default Tier 1 preset allow you to play the game because Indi games don't have balance. Tier 0 will in fact give you a complete disadvantage over the enemy, who may or may not have already Tier 1 starting units. The fact I had to say that with the coat of arms sigil perks, is also laughable with some benefits being literal nerfs. Trade treaty your boarder neighbors with submission because reputation in that game is literally nothing except to be earned or lost at a whim of the system. Take every opportunity to demand tribute in your favor, including stacking it with trade treaties. Build markets in every town. Use Non-Aggression because defensive pacts are useless without the Alliance relation. Look for any kingdoms with ports that share the same body of water as your buildable ports, because they can be trade treaty.Sell you first ship because it's NPC garbage.Imperial Cannons are tier 2 meme weapons that carry to the late game because they make 3x3 holes instead of 1 hole, but also they are required for the Steel Armor tech line, also required for tier 4 plane survivability upgrades. Though they take two ammo a shot, a single Imperial cannon will do more damage with less ammo used than 4 stacked cannons. But also they are one of the only few weapons that can destroy heavy steel armor. The irony is the Tier 3 Heavy Cannon, is a subpar performing Imperial Cannon which has 40 firing arc instead of 45, a huge difference, and more Heavy Cannons and their crew are needed to do the same damage as a single Imperial Cannon.Multiple weapons are wasteful if you don't have the crew to man them. Too much crew drains your income, which limits the fleet size.A mobility kill outside a friendly town or city is a ship lost.

The only one that can put up even a modicum of resistance is India, and they're enthralling me into power. Europe is still a bar brawl and barely consolidated, leaving the EU with just 2 armies. There aren't even enough nukes in the world (besides mine) to knock the AA down.My work is done. Time for vanity projects.
Holy! Tanks are really powerful in this game and the beginning of this mission gives you two of them.We are currently on campaign 3, mission 3 and the last time we ever started with a tank was campaign 1, mission 1.The last mission was cool in that we had loads of NPC ally squads arrive from the sides of the map and help take a town.It is nice when you find an old but gold game.

MENACE is out. From the devs of Battle Brother, Belligerent Bastards, Combative Hermanos, and a lot more. It's in early access, so I will pirate it and see if it is worth the price.
>>556375651That mech looks cool.
A lot of mechanics are the same as in BB, We have morale(dsicipline) and armor breaking. But we also got new things more X-COM-like, and a few new mechanics.>>556378675>That mech looks cool. The graphics are cool. Way to go from BB's PNGs. Not that I'm complaining about them, BB's graphics are serviceable, but in this it shows they could allow an actual budget for graphics.
my determined assimilation empire got rolled by cetana. i couldnt even put a dent in her titan which was 17m with a 10m fleet. i took out her fleets before hand too. another problem was the faggy ai empires doing absolutely nothing and the side missions of whatever with convoys were camped in her own territory that i couldn't get it.gay.
I have a question for those who actually got the Infernals DLC for Stellaris. Are Molten worlds able to be terraformed into Volcanic worlds? If there a way to make Mercury into a habitable planet? I really like the idea of playing a hyper-tall game with a bunch of habitable planets in Sol. I know that you can have up to five habitual planets in Sol already (Earth, Mars, Venus, the planet you get from the static dimension event line and Sol X from Solarpunk aliens), so I'm wondering if you can bump that up to six. Also on a semi-related note I think its bullshit you can't terraform Luna.
>>556379360Looks interesting
>>556373360Your mom did. I was only 6.
Endgame Servants is a fucking slog. In 2031, the AA started in China. By 2032, they had most of Asia sans India and were breaching into the middle east and Europe. It's now the middle of 2034 and they've been sitting around with their thumbs up their asses giving me fucking Belarus over and over while I spend entire goddamn years running abductions because I need 15 to hand over a country but can only do 2 per turn. I have dominance over the orbits of Earth, Luna, and Mars, global research has stagnated, and pretty much every human military outside of India has been smashed to pieces. I really do feel like a servant, given how hard I'm fucking carrying them.I should've won 7 hours ago. It'll be another 7 before I even see the light at the end of the tunnel. I've played porn games with more engaging filler content.

After realising that to get more pop in Infection Free Zone I needed to restart. I felt like I want to try another strategy zombie survival game, and this one was what Steam suggested.Never played the Rebel Inc, only the Infection one. So I don't know how this will be.

>>556414287Who truly wields the blade? The dawg, or the dog?
I'm hoping this is the right place to ask but is the vampire dlc for age of wonders 4 worth it?
>>556417786Right place. But I don't play AoW.
>>556417786I guess so? It's fun, but it adds little, I feel.
>>556414287he reminds me of my grandpa;_:
>>556391316The problem is it's a slog, because moment points are also action points and other things. Otherwise it has potential if the core gameplay can't be carried by the (lack of) narrative.
>>556425420>The problem is it's a slog, because moment points are also action points and other things. That's the same as BB though.
>>556417786It adds a lot of thematic shit. Vampires don't actually feel strong or meta OP to me, but they DO feel thematic with powers, vamp castle replacing wizard tower, making a big deal about spreading sunless terrain or staying underground, and turning your recruited heroes into vampiresSome of the new tomes DO feel strong on top of thematic. The two blood tomes are great and the torment one is alright. Alternate undead major TF option is neat, so many bleed effects to stack now. More importantly, useable even when you're not playing a vampirealso I tried making a halfling vampfu and she had no fucking elbows with my pick of clothing. That's probably fixed by now, but looking back I really should have renamed her to a more appropriate title in recognition of this 'unique feature'I guess if you caved and bought previous DLC you'll buy this too, but there was a decent amount to like here at least
>sell gold ore for 4 coins each>smelt SIX gold ore into ONE gold bar... which sells for 7 coins>if you need gold bars for some reason you can import them for 15 coins eachWho the FUCK designed this retarded economy in Foundation
You fight more enemies in the German campaign than the other 3 combined but at least they give you a mega unit. The Tiger tank has great armour and an incredibly powerful cannon. We are often one-shotting enemy tanks from the front.
>>556426269Who?

>>556404323The more posts I read about Terra Invicta, the less excited I am to play it. It sounds like the X-COM gameplay loop with itsost boring parts extended for the sake of "immersion" to the detriment of fun. Sure, in the OG Microprose version it was a terrifying feeling to realize the ayy artifact that you had scientists working day and night to research was just some extraterrestrial dildo that didn't help your war effort, but that was balanced out by early game explosives like Grenades and Hi-Explosive being strong enough to be forever relevant. Terra Invicta's implementation sounds like you're destined to have doomed runs if you don't just focus only the few "valid" options in a massive tech tree, and even then the geopolitical layer is a massive slog as you wait painfully long periods for your actions to bear results.
>>556380817NoVolcanic worlds are their own thing, and can be terraformed into anything. Molten worlds are the same, and uncolonizable normally Devs train of thought was 'we want you to colonize a lava world, but there's too many fucking molten worlds out there' so they made a new planet class as I guess a halfway halfass point. Except I do kinda like em at least. If you don't need food volcanic worlds are great. They even said they'd want to revisit Toxoids and do something similar for toxic worlds once they feel game stability is in a good place, make a new 'noxious' world classification you can colonize. Because the toxic planet ascension perk sucks ballsBut uh, yeah, you can still only terraform Mars in vanilla I think.
>>556430079Should have been a Tiger II
>>556455014Tiger II was historically a joke. A Tiger 1's gun and armor was enough, the problem was guns and ammunition got better than armor. All tank guns were limited by the performance of optics, and in WW2 tanks had less than 70% shots on target after 1500 meters. Any gun that can penetrate more than 80mm at 1500 meters was enough, but the Germans basically after 1941 were full of bad decisions for simple problems. The Germans needed 4 different shell case lengths and shapes for 4 different 7.5cm (75mm) guns that all used the same shells. The Soviets only needed 1 shell case from 1902 for all the 76mm guns and shells they made. That's all you need to know.

Just got to the first robot mission in menace.Instead of having morale these guys shut down under heavy fire. Also the big fuckers can tank anti-materiel and rocket launcher shots like they were nothing.
>>556507038Near-direct hit from air drop bomb took it down to a bit under half health and broke some internal system, so hopefully it won't fire for at least a turn.
>>556507370Welp, that was rough. Started getting overwhelmed towards the end there and even with upgraded medbay I still lost a squaddie. Also, another down side is that I got zero loot from this mission, despite killing two of the big ones.
>>556507038>>556507370>>556508041Any tips on how not to suck? The first mission I did, my squads got grenade'd, then suppressed, and finally dead. Quit after that as I wasn't really in the mood for thinking what the fuck happened and how to avoid it.
>>556508713First, bring the tank with you.Remember to arm it with the machine gun that you should get for free.In case you picked only infantry commanders, try using cover to lure enemies within killzones of your own making.Enemies won't see you if there's a eye with / mark through it, on your unit.Bracing your units (the yellow downward arrow) makes your units harder to hit and harder to spot. Also, try to flank enemies when you can, because exposed enemies are super weak to your guns.Lastly, buildings provide different levels of cover, which is visualized by shield images. Also also, before starting the mission, remember to top off your squads with squaddies, I think you start with like half full squads by default when the game starts.
>>556509613>Remember to arm it with the machine gun that you should get for free.I'm retarded, didn't see that you could equip weapons to your vehicles. Thanks.
>>556509613That HGM from the IFV totally shreds the enemy squads inside the softskinned transports.
>>556518756Remember that vehicles (including transports) have different armor values at different sides, go for rear attacks.
>>556518936They do? Awesome.I was using it as mobile cover for the other squads, that explains why there's a button to rotate the vehicle.
>>556519557Good call using it as cover, that's what it is good for too.
>>556520292I learned that by the hard way in Xenonauts. Now I got the urge to equip my squads with MGs and lots of nades, to do the same tactics as in that game. But something tells me it won't work very well.
NIGGERS wait for me, my squads need the XP.
>>556521908No, I think that would work great.Grenades against heavies and MG fire against chaff and heavies to pin them down. There's different types of grenades too, ranging from regular frag, to smoke, flashbang and napalm grenades. There's also other explosive items available.
So many niggers, so few bullets.>>556523323I think I'm going to sell everything I can for more ammo pouches. If I have to do more missions like this one, I will need a lot more ammo.
If I already own some DLC do I turn those off in Cream?
>>556502764They are a meme but got balanced because troops cost more upkeep a ship, and guards got buffed. Ordering troops to board takes a command action, and that action makes all of them hang outside unprotected against aircraft and rockets.

>>556508713don't be afraid of "wasting" actions. even if there's no overwatch, the enemy needing to move to get into range makes them more visible to you and also prevents them from firing on the same turn. when moving across open ground, don't sprint your max distance. move half, then deploy, and move everyone else up to match. turn order isn't a thing, the AI uses its best positioned units first, and so should you. sometimes that means tucking tail and retreating out of range before they can fire.
