I finally made my way over to the Bastards WoundI didn't have this DLC for my first playthrough so this is all new to meI've only played about 20-30 minutes ignoring the new companion quests (depending on how your count it), but I've already noticed significant changesThe writing is a lot more dense. There are true "walls of text" in basically every dialogue, not that I mind it. But the writing in the dlc is also sharper in many ways, I particularly noticed this with Verse- and Baric's companion quests. The dialogue options they give you tend to be livelier and sharper and it feels like it was handled by a different team than the main game.The areas I've seen so far are also more exciting than the base game, well, at least on average.And even though I've been in this new area for all of 10 seconds they've already set up at least 2 different factions so the DLC seems to follow the base game's choice- and faction-based philosophy.

More people simply prefer the cleaner and more formal turn based, than pseudo turn based of them pressing spacebar whenever they want.A second factor is that turn based games tend to have more deliberate encounter design. TRWP games often run into the problem of the developer throwing a room full of mites/kolbolds at you, because they know you're going to slaughter them all quickly. In TB games, you will generally have a smaller number of combatants, and enemies will be placed more deliberately as a result. Obviously you can find examples of good RTWP encounter design, and swarmy TB design, but this is the general trend. This is why a lot of people prefer turn based, but they may not know how to word this preference, since you'll see people say they prefer turn based but not able to be specific. It's encounter design.

Dagger rogues will do more damage if you're controlling them but need WAY more micromanagement to ensure proper positioning and keep them from dying. Archers handle themselves fine without fuss. Further, Bard is generally the best specialization unless you're personally spending a lot of time maximizing the rogue, since it offers a party wide buff. So it's more of a playstyle thing.
