Color me crazy, but I don't think this thing will (as) be dead on arrival like so many think. While it's true that the grenade slot is often considered indispensable for Thermite and/or Dynamite, the truth of the matter is that there are so many options in the game for anti-tank and crowd control that losing the grenade slot isn't a huge loss. You have so many red stratagems, and support weapons, and even a goddamned secondary weapon that can act as anti-tank.That being said, I can't imagine this shield being useful against anything except bots. Squids just throw so many Voteless at you that it's suicide to stand still for too long, and bugs don't even have that many ranged enemies to worry about. You can use these for protecting you during terminal use, and while using cumbersome support weapons like the Maxigun, the new BFG and for stationary reloading weapons like the Recoilless and MG-43. And I guess you could also use it to protect you while you're manning an emplacement. But at the end of the day, even this will probably have limited utility due to the existence of the War Strider, which will shit out so many grenades that it'll probably crack the shield with zero effort.

Performance against 90% of chaff enemies is completely unchanged; on bugs it means it does more damage to bile spewers, on bots it's more damage to rocket striders and on illuminate there is no change to any chaff enemiesIt's just that it can now work very inefficiently against heavies without needing to go after the weakspots you would go after before. Weakspot hunting is still the best way to use it against heavies, with only the harvester really getting a significant change in effectiveness.

Very bad news for bastion fans. According to what leakers have tested, tt has AP3 armor and only 30 rounds. Keep in mind AH also buffed enemy damage significantly meaning they basically instakill the FRV and Bastion now
