"A group of vampires living in a metro station ruins", or "a town with two houses and extremely friendly people in Andale but they are cannibals", this kind of whacky writing is just missing from FNV. Its too vanilla. They mad a good RPG but arguably boring. I liked dead money writing, but HATED lonsome roadWhat would Bethesda writers are incredible at making the world seem lived in, and basically what we know as "environmental storytelling". Look at all the settlements in F3 or even say F4, they are distinctly more cluttered and somewhat realistic for a post apocalyptic world. I could imagine people living in an old aircraft carrier, sure, whacky but why not? But now take a small town like goodsprings from FNV, or basically any settlement...yes its realistic but its the most bog standard small town, vegas is boring as heck, legion camp is...bland. I play Skyrim mostly for the beautiful scenery and music.I think the issue is that when you have to keep the lore and plot and narrative at the centre (as FNV and obsidian often does), you can't make do without fleshed out NPCs as purveyors of the said lore. And when you put in NPCs you have to make them speak a LOT to get all the info out. The tone of the dialogue must also be somewhat serious to make the player care about the lore (or why would you hear the NPC hear speak at all, when the alternative is exploring the beautifully crafted world?). It all spirals from there. Your writing has to convey the lore, but be serious enough to not be taken lightly by the player. Plus when a game is heavy on dialogue related writing, it is going to be light on environmental/experiential writing as a result. This is expected.

To me, it was very enjoyable to have the season two focus on New Vegas. It’s not perfect, but it’s good enough that I’m not thwarted and disheveled.But since episode 2 or 3, I’ve had a growing disgust towards online “fans” that just wouldn’t shut the fuck up. If you tinker with settings you can get it running at a solid 60 although it consumes a ton of battery life so I cap to 30 like the consoles. Just be aware that since the game speed is tied to framerate, you will be adding a ton of latency by capping beneath 60 using gamescope. If you use the script extender and then fiddle with your mod list in the creations menu, you will crash midgame, it is inevitable. Also a problem with Skyrim AE. >76 I don't play 76 much at all but it runs fine and actually even better than my old Windows laptop from 2019. That being said it is a power drainer so cap to 30/40 when handheld. There are a few stutters here and there, but the game runs like that on all consoles and most PCs. It's just poorly optimized. >3&NVNo issues. Now that you can use the gamepad in the launcher I see no reason these games shouldn't be verified. You can have a solid 60fps and still have a solid 4-6 hours battery life. The Deck can even run ENBs and reshades fine if you tinker but they can be glitchy so watch out. >1/2/TacticsSome of the best games to utilize the Deck's trackpads. The fact you can play these games both on a gamepad and on a handheld is mindblowing to me, I grew up with the PSP with one tiny thumbstick. This is probably one of the best game series for the Deck. Lots of things to do in them that you can now do on the go. I think Fallout 4 and Skyrim are always on the most played Deck games charts too.

We learn pretty quickly that his "management" vault was actually nothing but a bunch of assistants and Vault-Tec nobodies aside from Hank. Bud reveals himself to be just as incompetent as the "super manager" candidates he was given. It makes sense that they knew nothing of Vault 32's fall. All bud was doing was slowly unfreezing one new intern every 30 years. Aside from that, the Vaults appear to follow standard procedure

The brotherhood in 4 was just an advance party and it never felt like they were trying to set up a permanent base in the commonwealth, but I admit I don't know if this is the result of playing the game once 2 years ago or not.Having them be called the "commonwealth brotherhood" implies they stuck around, and even in the route where they won it feels like they'd loot the institute that they blew up for some reason (all that tech they could've kept after killing the scientists gone) and then head back to their base at the pentagon.I could see a chapter being set-up there but referencing elder maxson means they decided the boston airport was a better HQ for the main brotherhood chapter then the pentagon.

I came back to 76 about a year back after having given it a couple year break.I was hoping that I could rekindle my old love for the game, but instead I've found that over the past year I've been more apathetic than ever towards it, just logging in to do the challenges because what else is there to do?I had fun making a ghoul character and it was cool going to check out Skyline Valley and the Burning Springs. Haven't yet checked out a couple of the new expeditions though.Regardless it just ain't sticking with me like it used to. It just has that MMO syndrome where it just feels so predatory and unwelcoming.Maybe I won't bother to complete the next season. Ain't like the next update is even anything special, just a reskinned behemoth that can sometimes show up at events. The fact you gotta get to rank 150 is what's really killing my enjoyment I think. I don't really know too much about modding and editing esp files so I was asking the google AI and it mentioned something about impact scripts, and for some reason there were three conflicting versions of the fire effect being applied. While I don't like the designs of the super sledge/power fist from 4, I understand that the power fist could easily be some industrial tool repurposed into a weapon. Especially with the pieces of rebar you can stick on it.But the super sledge I don't get. The old versions ranged from tools to weapons, but the 4 version of the sledge kind of make a weird hybrid that doesn't make sense as either. I hate the fact that modern Fallout games seen to downplay the effects of a nuclear blast soo much. For instance, in picrel you can see the capitol clearly standing, while in the reality most of what would probably be left standing would be the base of the building. Fallout 1 seemed to better capture this, like when showing that Los Angeles was reduced to rubble. Also Bethesda games seem to remove the grim feeling that you would usually expect from a post apocalyptic shithole.
