Damn Archie reboot was weird. Reboots are normally entry points that wipe the slate clean for newcomers, but it doesn't even do that right. It doesn't really reibtroduce the characters properly and expects you to be somewhat familiar with the recent pe-reboot (Flynn/Yardley) run. The reader is asked to imagine a sequence of events that is similar, but not quite the same as pre-reboot, yetit is a continuation, just as analtered timeline. What's more, the major conflict of the reboot is a direct consequence of what happened to the pre-reboot universe. Outside of Universr and smaller stories, it's basically one overarching "Unleashed" storyarc that serves as a conclusion to the series. Clearly they wanted to do more, but it ended at as good a note it could go on given circumstances. But as a reboot, it really failed.I wish the wiki had a better system sincr they clearly madetge "Pre-Super Genesis Wave" and "Archie" disambiguations early in the reboot expecting it would last a lot longer.

Mina Mongoose reconciled with Nicole. Then she evaporated into nothing.Julie Su was trapped in an eternal prison and then erased just like MinaElias is gone too. For him things were getting very bad. His life got worse and worse until he was nothing. His sister was turned into a robot and he never got to say goodbye.Hope finally found peace at GUN and friends with Shadow and Rouge. She also got erased. Sonic, Tails, Sally, Amy, and Bunnie all have family members who were snapped away into nothingness. They were aware of these family members when the reboot started and then just did not care to try and get them back. It's as if these aren't the same characters at all. Those memories are of different peoples' lives.Sally does not care that her brother was erased in an alternate timeline. She doesn't even care that in this previous timeline she was in love with Sonic. She only cares about her actions as MechaSally.Sonic wonders if he should try and fix things but the memories start to fade anyways.Imagine if the timeline got destroyed, eliminating Amy and Tails, and Sonic decided not to save them. You can feel that this had nothing to do with art or storytelling and was just trying to avoid Penders content while also staying within Sonic Team's new stipulations for the comic. Sonic and Sally have spent years building up a relationship. Twenty years in fact. That relationship is gone in an instant and no attempt is made to acknowledge it at all. It's as if it was never important.
