This, trios is a dead mode practically. It takes like 3-5 minutes for a queue to pop, compared to solos where you can get a game in seconds. If you die in the first few minutes of a trios game and immediately requeue the map you will be thrown into the same game. Meanwhile I've never once gotten into the same solos game even if I suicide at 29 minutes to get a better spawn for bp farming. This is why it's so easy for stream snipers to get in every single streamer match. If Embark really is balancing for this mode then it's just another case of devs capitulating to streamers.

I think Arc Raiders is fun game to enjoy casually but gets stale quickly if your preference is PvP. Marathon is set to have more meta variety and higher skill ceiling. There are even rumors about ranked mode. for hornets, I post up on the control tower roof with an osprey or renegade and 8 stacks of ammo, plus a jupiter and 5 stacks of energy ammo

use a few portable barricades to build yourself a "corner" on the roof for cover

I also like to bring 3 wolfpacks and a few stacks of seekers for rocketeers

shoot snitches to aggro them and get them to spawn hornets, and shoot all patrolling groups with hornets you can see (almost the whole map)

for ground arc the same map, but post up by the field depot above the bunker, and use ziplines to provide quick movement between the three/four nearby spawns heavy arc can pop on

to use fewer trailblazers on them, get to nearby cover and shoot them so they're more stationary then try to toss the grenade "under" them - should never take more than 3 per heavy if they're focused on you and not moving much

it doesn't matter what mods you put on it, it's never capable of consistently landing both shots on the same target at medium range unless you're starting by shooting at someone's feet

the ammo economy is fucking terrible
the damage is pathetic (it cant even oneshot a wasp/hornet)
the time between shots is also lengthy

I would rather use an unmodded rengade 1 for literally any scenario

it needs either
- both shots of the "burst" fire simultaneously so they actually land
- it only uses 1 ammo per "shot" so it gets 10 rounds per mag
- the recoil between shots within the same burst is massively (90-95%) decreased
