I swear my shitty ideas from this thread have influenced poe leagues before. Years ago i made this suggestion, you find immortal monsters and fight them. They have infinite hp but limited time. The more damage you deal in their infinite hp period the stronger they are. When the timer ends they spawn for real. This way the encounters correlate to your current power level. This is why i think there's an hourglass in the teaser, that's the timer and you fight pseudo-immortal djinn guys.
Gotta say, I'm not at all a fan of this news. I hope the Breach atlas nodes allow fully blocking the Hive rather than just reducing the chance, otherwise I'll be fully blocking Breach in every atlas strategy.I also don't understand why the tree is going core. I hope the 3.28 Q&A has this as a topic of interest as to why this decision was reached. Fate of the vaal is doing more damage to poe as a whole than we can fathom, and its not just because of the ungodly amounts of currency generated by the absurd league mechanic thats bound to be nerfed to oblivion anyway. Player expectations are already skewed beyond repair and the economy is fucked until 1.0 launches. The real problem is build diversity. Comet sorc/witch/druid and poisonburst pathfinder represent more than 60% of league builds on poe.ninja I'm not even kidding, you can look it up. 60 fucking percent of ALL league builds. And you know damn well GGG are fucking incapable of doing anything else but slamming the nerf hammer instead of actually fixing their shit. Everyone is swimming in divs, running a flavor of the same two builds and no one gives a flying fuck about the actual state of the game. I mean of course it's early access but still, this is nothing short of a shitshow.
