Let me tell you why Venator is strong:Wall gutshot + grenade is enough burst damage in lane to win nearly any trade if you land it and maintains it's potency into mid/lategame. allows you to play in tight spaces extremely well, contest camps, sinners, midboss especially pit - while traps are a meme in lategame, they are legitimately hard to deal with in chaotic fights in tight spaces or in baseThe grenades allow for extremely fast farming, he kills camps almost as fast if not faster than seven. can also steal enemy camps from a distance safely because it only takes 2 grenades to kill a t2 camp. Grenade damage adds up a lot in fights and can often contribute around 66% of your overall gun damage.Also, people shit on him for not having an escape, but shotgun's knockback is really good for protecting yourself. You can time it with people jumping/climbing to knock them really far. They say the wall jump + shotgun buffer movement tech is useless, but that's not my experience at all. Because it doesn't count as a movement ability it can be used to escape Rem ults and evade when hit with things like Capacitor/Slowing Hex. Lastly his ult is still insane even after the nerfs. It serves as a good carry deletion tool, and hard counters flyers. Being able to remove the strongest player from a teamfight from a safe distance is extremely strongAnyway I'm writing all of this because I'm bored with extra time before work and I'm sick of niggers from this thread downplaying him. I love the hero, but I fucking HATE when people downplay strong picks in any game.

It forces you to play Sinclair in a way that works against his own kit. By his own nature, he wants to be in the middle of the team fight looking for the best hex into ultimate steal. I personally don’t believe his 1 does anything useful, you have to either hang back and not play the team fight or be there for your allies and understand your bolt will do 100-200 damage during the entire fight. Picking either strategy gives you half the hero’s potential. And since you can’t swap with your clone with urn anymore he’s not a key urn runner. I don’t know what his 1 should be, but vexing bolt is trash even in the lane phase, you are better off looking for hex heavy melee combos

I feel like I need to buy monster rounds 1st or 2nd item almost every game.Am I missing something or is it just that good in lane?
