Correct me if I'm wrong but it feels like they are setting up Tomoro to be a Luffy/Goku type protagonist who influences those he battles and saves instead of going on long arcs. His arc was wrapped up and he is already given this ethereal tone. He is seemingly the most powerful character with little effort and experience. Aside from his early arc (The first 11 episodes) his morality is rewarded throughout the series.

I just got through Digimon Survive. The truthful ending was the absolute worst out of all of them.
