Are handguns just worse than rifles in every single bethesda fallout?I don't remember much about 3 but I think the tri-laser rifle mogged every single weapon in the game. The alien blaster was good I think?In NV it's all about the AMR, survivalist's rifle, all-american, medicine stick, plasma caster, etc. I tried a run using only revolvers and even the top end like the sequoia were disappointing. In 4 they're all shit, even if you find one with a crazy legendary effect it'd be better on a different weapon. The railroad m9 is cute I guess but you can't get a legendary version so it falls off.In 76 they're useless, there's no pistol specific perks so it's the same as using a rifle with less range and less damage and less capacity. They have lower AP cost but there's a mandatory perk that increases damage based on AP cost so you don't want that.
If Crimson Desert pans out I'll finally have something to replace Bethesdas trash from my library. Really hope it does well.

making money on fallout 2 is brutal. at least on 1 I could be rich the second I reach a casino by holding down 1 and 4. that don't work on 2, you have to pickpocket and steal every single thing in the first to towns you enter and sell it to start to even have some money. and then you finally reach San Francisco and those Chinese shopkeepers are the only ones you can buy stuff from and then steal all your money back, once you reach them you're set. just buy everything you need and keep taking their caps until you have a decent amount over time

Think I've locked myself into a House ending now by completing Volare! for Mr. House. That's not too bad. While I did like the NCR and their efforts, I think my character would approve more of an Overseer-like figure running New Vegas after seeing the NCR's incompetence, I think they would think New Vegas should be run like a well-functioning vault. IIRC you can hack the turrets using the Presidential key card, and you can convince one of the sergeants and his units to help you escape by fighting Horrigan. They're not very good, they usually end up dying, but if you're lucky the turrets might finish him off (or let you get the finishing blow).

You know how Clover is a willing slave? How she gets off on being abused and she hates you attacking Paradise Falls (and will attack you if you fight them)? Think about if that was your female Courier. She loves being a slave and serving a master, she feels like it's actually liberating to have someone watch over her. Obviously you would also pair this with low INT and Wild Wasteland to simulate the effects of complete and utter insanity. To be fair, you would have to be pretty insane, even as a male Courier, to side with the Legion. They make it very clear you're not one of them, you're a "profligate", "dissolute", etc. You would have to betray every companion and NPC you've come across to side with them from Goodsprings to Novac.

As long as you're not planning to usurp the Strip or plotting with his enemies, he leaves you alone.
