The Island is a neat idea for a more fleshed out alternate start experience but it goes a bit overboard, imo. I don't need dwemer and aetherium shenanigans plus even with the fixes the terrain collision isn't done properly. Invisible walls are bad enough but try invisible ground for a change. I think once you know where everything is and what you need to do in order to leave the island it gets better but idk if I want to dedicate a few hours to that.Chanterelle would be another option but I suppose that's even more of a hassle.

That being said, Skyrim does look nicer with Skyland AIO + Fantasia but due to my Skyrim being an a HDD, it does take a little bit longer to load. I think the next time I upgrade my PC I'll buy an additional SSD just for Skyrim and MO2. Currently my installation sits around 500GB or so which isn't too bad. I can probably cut it further down by cleaning up my Skyrim install, I've been doing some cleaning from the manual installation days already.

ESO is the best thing that has happened to this series since Daggerfall. Honestly, one of the best MMOs on the market with good representation of Elder Scrolls.>But they changed the lorefor the better. Let's be honest, most of this lore is literally just vague references, and Bethesda would have ruined everything if they had decided to add them to their game as is. Just look at Skyrim, its ESO lore is way better than the slop we had in TES5.
The Island as an alternate start is very interesting in theory but in practical terms it kinda falls flat. It's less a survival sandbox experience where you have to start from nothing and gather, scavenge and hunt your way to victory. It may seem that way at the start since the first structure you encounter is a dilapidated dock building with a cooking place you need to repair first - with firewood and a cooking pot. But there's quite a few outposts/cabins found on the island that have more amenities like a bed and crafting stations like smelters, armor benches and grinding wheels.Which means that if you waste any resources on the starter shack you're going to feel very stupid since there's better locations. Important crafting stations like forges need charcoal to get going again so you're going to feel stupid if you repair the first forge you come across since there's better, more central locations.Everything is connected via a Blackreach-like underground city that is of course infested with falmer, so if you're going to start a fresh run there it's going to be quite difficult. Unless you know where to find the good stuff. It's a very linear mod masquerading as a survival sandbox. Thanks for reading my blog.

Modding Bethesda games is such a miserable experience for such mediocre results. I'm so tired of all these incompatibilities and crashes just to play a very mediocre game. Dragons are the worst part of Skyrim their animations, their models, their attacks and flying. All aids. They're bearable if you do the main quest and get the shout to drag them down and then send summons like frost atronachs to pound them.
