It seems most people who earnestly try the game and don't post about it on social media all day end up finding something to like in it, it just doesn't have the same "every match is a story" quality that arc has with the arcs and friendlier approach to pvp which allows it to advertise itself.I think Marathon could use better PVE that does a better job of making twitter clips. I could see how a simple PVE pivot could generate some small turnaround just from annoying social media people running with it and going "DEVS LISTENED" (and made marathon into a worse game) but I don't think it would stick because it wouldn't be interesting or original, people already played Destiny and got sick of it. It has some of the fiddly looting, quick TTK, but a much more flat loot curve. To my knowledge you can't Chadwalk like in Tarkov where you can just absorb low tier ammo in high tier gear. Tarkov is obviously far more hardcore as well with little to no catch up mechanics outside of scav runs, and their quests are much more tedious.
