Ive played long enough to know what is about to go down. They are going to make sweeping nerfs to all totem builds after this league ends. The totem placement speed buff is in antcipation of massive damage nerfs. Totems play well from level 12 or whenever you can make your first totem now. They will look at totems and cut their damage. I guarantee it will happen.

I swapped my build too early and with too little gold and I'm now at a weird spot where I can only farm whites whilst having lots of currency. I don't know how I did that.
The last good "self cast/hit" build I played which wasn't utter painful dogshit to play was KBoC and even that was because it exploded everything around you in like 4 screens, I will never touch strikes/wands/self cast ever again. Starting new holy skills was a terrible mistake.

as someone who got to poe1 pretty late and has played a lot of poe2/other ARPGs, lemme tell ya something. "solving" defences in poe1 is such a pain in the ass and counterintuitive. i've been trying to tackle a new archetype/playstyle every league the last few leagues and it's nuts how crazy enemy damage is in poe1 for no reason. in poe2 it's a little too easy but god damn I should not be walking around with like 100k eHP and 20k phys max hit and getting randomly 1 tapped in 0 dmg mod maps. i know it's a "git gud just learn" problem but god damn man it's annoying as hell in an otherwise great game
