I hate filling out the atlas and would like to play on some decent map instead of this complete garbage. Regular Breachs can be done much faster, and you can have several of them per map, but Hives are one per map and require much less effort. It's a lot of loot in one place vs less loot in multiple sources. I prefer Hives because I can just throw a few totems in the centre and watch everything die.Fortresses also give way more loot than bosses in regular Breaches. Also Hives generally have better nodes.
