I could write some long winded post about how to fix D2 the thing is I need to see and know Bungie cares and I just don't see it. This void of content and communication screams this game which has been getting smaller and smaller amounts of support is even lower on the totem pole now. You got your campaign, standard PvP, tons of game modes, patrol zones with other players (at least you had that up until Final Shape anyways) and tons of other game types and stuff to go through. And the secret and sometimes cryptic nature of the patrol zones or even some of Bungie's exotic missions is ironically one of the secret sauces and inspires "friendship and community" as is part of Bungie's motto, because it brings tons of people online from casual dadgamers to hardcore streamerfags together to work towards a common goal that benefits everyone. In contrast Marathon is just "every man for themselves" and its only just one game type. And if you like everything else about the game BUT that one game type, the game has nothing else to offer. That's the one thing that absolutely sealed Marathon's fate.

There is something extremely off and fishy about Marathon.The game is nothing remarkable and is insanely predatory in its monetization. It's made by one of the most hated companies in gaming and follows the total trainwreck of Destiny 2.The player count is abysmally low and getting lower every day. The percentage of reviews:players makes no sense compared to StS2 which has an ocean of players. Almost every positive review feels AI-generated, very inhuman with almost corporate language like 'Wow, this game sure does make an impression!', which came out minutes after launch. Every negative review is spammed in the comments with vitriol. Bungie is 100% either paying or botting to get positive reviews and positive attention because the attention is not translating into sales and play counts. Not enough people are playing to match up with the worship of it on social media. I believe they even made the whole woke art style specifically to bait the right-wing into turning Marathon into another culture war debate, which succeeded and now Marathon cannot be critically analyzed with a neutral lens by the average goy.
