Am I following correctly? Sage is completely vulnerable in this chapter and Metal is only able to attack her. If Belle gets directly in the way Metal will stop attacking. Sage is scared and incapable of leaving. She said Eggman told her to retreat immediately in this situation and she starts freaking out because she doesn't know how to get out of the cave. why doesn't she just phase out? Why doesn't she just log back to Eggman's base or something? She lightens up towards Belle here for coming up with a way to defend her.Sage is the most vulnerable person in this issue and the biggest liability. Metal can't get to Sonic and won't hurt Belle. Sage couldn't come up with a way to defeat Metal or to fend him off.

Superstars fails as a classic Sonic game because it falls for the most glaring pitfall of modern writing. The obsession with easy redemption. The obsession with the poor girl rising up and beating all the men without effort. If Superstars was truly a 90's style game, besides not having such a soulless art style and retarded, corporate subtitle, and mediocre level design, and terrible boss design, it would have never gone the direction it did with Fang and Trip. A Trip who is sweet, clumsy, and absolutely devoted to helping Fang in his schemes a character with personality. A Trip who realizes "stealing is wrong and hurting people is bad" and joins Sonic is just noise, it's nothing. If they went with the 90's style approach there's some personality to it. You have Fang (a greedy, self-important jerk) and Trip (the only person who actually likes/tolerates him). Is Fang actually heartless, or is he just posturing? Does Trip know he's a loser but helps him anyway, or does she actually think he's amazing? That's a relationship you can write tons of stories about. Trip the Sungazer from Sonic Superstars is a character you don't even want to write ONE story about. Because it's not an interesting creative work from the 90s. It's a forgettable 2020s corporate product.
