Good thing I checked the catalog.
Sotoa's flag might be my favourite Strangereal flag to date.

The thing with the hammer and the sword and shit is cool but red and green is a trash tier color combo
>>

I had the same thought initially but it has grown on me a lot.
Maybe if it was a slightly darker and richer green like on Portugal's flag it'd be nicer to look at.

Yeah the kind of washed out green reminds me of certain African flags if anything.

So just remove them and replace them with proper APKWS which thanks to current world means nearly every single plane in the game can use them.
No volley fire
Able to hit ground or air targets

Pretty much. Make them single fire with a small blast radius and less accurate guidance than the AGMs usually have. Question is should they be able to lock onto air target as well or should they still be dumb fire against them?

Zero really made me appreciate the Draken, same way that 5 made me appreciate the Tiger and 4 the F-16. As starter planes they were just fun, and the F-16 was an affordable upgrade that never stopped being relevant. I doubt it'll come back in 8 but replaying 7 made me miss the PS2 games' generous S-Rank requirements. Feeling like you did good in the mission and seeing a high grade for your performance on the debrief screen helped sell the top gun ace fantasy, that you joyriding in your favorite plane are a badass fighter pilot unrivaled in skill.
>>
>>560073184
I wish 7's S-Ranks weren't so time dependent, it makes it way too hard to S-Rank some missions with certain planes unless you've got a route set out like you're speedrunning the game. The Draken's a lot of fun in Zero, I'd love to have it back.

How did you get this exlcusive concept art for Project Wingman 2?
>>
Would you like to see more IRL liveries in Ace Combat 8, whether as base game skins or DLC? I don't just mean the colors, but like real world markings and roundels.
>>
>>560073932
Honestly just slapping on the top speed upgrade part that gets any plane to mach 2.5 is usually enough. And as a bonus you also get much better acceleration than you would with the +accel part because ac7 is busted.
I recently replayed 7 and was surpised that I S ranked faceless soldier while staying 3 full minutes under the time limit without any special strats.
>>
>>560090927
Usually I always give my planes Queen's Custom, Superior Maneuverability, Variable Cycle Engine, and ECU Software Update. I've never tried building planes specifically for maximum speed or maximum maneuverability. Either way I can get an A-10 supersonic or make the top tier planes go up to 1600 knots so I'm happy. Also I hate we can't use Level 2 parts in campaign. No mods on console of course.
>>
>>560093989
Swap variable cycle engine for next gen high pressure.components. You'll have a higher top speed AND better acceleration. Or you can run both but it's not necessary.
>>
>>560094182
I'll try that next time I play.
>>
>>560094521
Definitely do. For whatever reason ac7 scales acceleration off your top speed so if you increase top speed you also increase acceleration. And nghpu gives double the speed bost compared to vce.
>>
I've heard the F-35 called Fat Amy and Panther before, but Battle Penguin is a new one to me. Funny how some unofficial nicknames circulate more than others, like even non-vets call the F-16 the Viper and the A-10 the Warthog.
>>560094624
Really wish the game gave you a better idea of what each stat actually does. The Stability stat's something I always ignored but on my more recent playthrough I've discovered how nice it is to be able to drop into the 100's or even double digit airspeed before stalling. It's very helpful for bossfights and groundpounding.
>>
ACES dug out a couple of SFX exclusive to Assault Horizon for the latest SOUNDS IN THE COCKPIT.
I admit, I think I always overlooked AH's OST because of the game, but this video has me appreciating that there are some valuable compositional ideas in the music, even in the tracks which aren't really my own cup of tea.
I only remember some marketing vids around release that featured a few "ethnic music specialists" (some dude on a duduk, some dude on a dulcimer, the oooowooaahoooo "sound like you're singing in Arabic but not really" lady, etc. ).
The greatest concentration of musical production (not necessarily compositional!) value in the entire franchise rests with the game that is perhaps the most frequently maligned.
>>
mirage 2000 is 2000x cooler than that ugly fatty rafale
>>
>>560095962
I have a softspot for real fake Arabic music like that, likely due to middle a
school Call of Duty brainwashing. I really like Town of Fiction, the song that plays during the first helicopter mission. But tracks like White Devil, Dogfight, Shall Defend, Blue on Blue, there's really good stuff in them. Ms. Krista Yoslav is probably one of my favorite vocal tracks in the franchise, hell that song alone tells a better story than the game itself. And I think it's half the reason Markov's become a bit of a favorite antagonist among the more contrarian parts of the fanbase. And I love AH's leitmotif that pops up in several of its songs.

None of that has anything on GOTTA STAY FLY of course.
>>
>Second hand X52 I bought started spazzing out and causing my plane to spin and veer off course.
Game problem or joystick problem?
>>
>>560095839
That's not what stability does, that's just the special effect of the ECU part.
>>
>>560098626
Oh. It makes the stability stat bar go up so I assumed it was tied to it. God I hope 8's parts system is a little better.
>>
>>560098787
All stability does is make your plane stop turning faster when you let go of the stick. The ECU part by itself is good for the special effect, other stability parts are worthless.
>>
>>560096505
Markov would've been a lot more compelling if he wasn't just a smug asshole every time you met him.

I'm very skeptical of the Iranians' ability to do anything except harass shipping and attack bases and considering that reported US air losses so far have been the result of fucktardation I'm willing to believe them, in this case. I don't know what kind of capabilities that Iranian proxies in Iraq have though, I've read reports of them getting influence within Iraq's government and military due Shia/Sunni slapfighting. Refueling usually happens at fairly high altitude doesn't it? Could a MANPADS reach high enough to schwack a tanker?

I can see it being an accident as the legit answer too. Check out flight tracker those tankers fly close to each other and bring in several planes who need to get a drink, Pilots are exhausted from long operations accidents are bound to happen.

taking broad design similiarities and equating that to actual 1:1 cloning is just silly, might as well claim the eagle is knocking off the fulcrum because they both have twin vertical stabs, swept back wings, an internal gun and two engines. the checkmate isnt even a VTOL, so already the chinese are not just "knocking off" the su-75.

Until a better image was posted I couldn't tell it wasn't a 75 even has that same single laughing intake. The only real change in the 2nd image is add a fan for VTOL function. At this point the PLA's biggest issue is that they're a military entirely based on theory with zero practical combat experience, but they have the manpower and the hardware. Especially their air forces which I think is getting their best and brightest on force design, because they likely realized it's their best shot for Taiwan to have air superiority. I'm still going to make fun of them for showing their new shiny assault rifle keyhole on a target at 25 yards on a propaganda film. But I also make fun of the US Army for adopting the XM7 so it's all banter. Even though I'm a chucklefuck who just likes looking at geopolitics and military stuff as a hobby I treat it like I'm in a position of authority.

I feel like there's a massive disconnect between the regime and the people but neither really give much of a shit unless pressed. Kinda like the Soviets really, very passive aggressive, maybe it's just what happens under any communist system that hasn't collapsed into full retard shit like Cambodia. Like you think some salaryman actively gives as much of a fuck about Taiwan as he does about his job? Or some Douyin and gacha addicted zoomer weeaboo cares about Taiwan as much as the government does? Much like the US populous(for different reasons of course), I don't think the Chinese populous is truly ready for a war and all it brings. The CCP's just very good at portraying the country as 1.4 billion chinamen who behave like a hivemind. And retards on both sides of the aisle buy it hook line and sinker, but the reality is way too complicated so they latch onto crap like that so they can be quippy little faggots on the Internet. I think what snapped me out of that is a combination of learning to take them seriously in a realistic, and exposure to Chinese memes via gachashitposting. They're funny motherfuckers sometimes.

We could do great things together if our governments didn't hate each others guts
Pixy was right he just went about it in the worst way possible.
>>
>>560173669
We will always find reasons to hate each other, Pixy's retarded actions can be argued to have been done due to hate in the first place.
>>
>>560156484
Ok now according to
>Al-Jazeera
a group of Iran backed chucklefucks in Iraq are claiming they shot down the KC-135. Guess we'll find out eventually if that's true but I kinda doubt it.

AWWNB in general feels like it's full of extremely frustrated people who just said 'Fuck it' and decided to make it the rest of the world's problem. Sorceror 1 seemed to have moved on more or less, Gault 1 died for his ideals, and Wizard 1's just a lunatic lol. But Pixy's whole thing about trying to find out what borders mean, as silly as it is, is really interesting because it's almost like he's admitting how naive he was. And yet he can't truly let go of it despite fighting to essentially protect/overtake a border.

The Su-75 is dead in the water because it has no plausible market. Russia itself would prefer just more Su-57s, and China has it beaten to the punch in the third world knockoff F-35 market. Russia's aviation industry in general is going the way of Britain's, not only is the Su-75 stillborn, so are PAK DA, PAK DP, PAK VTA, and probably a few others I'm forgetting. On top of that, the only airframe worth half a damn they ever made, the Flanker, has been entirely co-opted by China. Russia's only hope of new aircraft at this rate is a 'joint' project with China, or whatever we let them have when they collapse and get occupied some time this century.

I wonder if Algeria will ever get thise Felons they put up an order for.
>>
>>560181551
Even if they do, their workmanship will be shoddy and unreliable, and Russia will just blame the Algerians if they try to complain.

I guess we'll be linking up with other scattered forces during the campaign. Should be fun, I really enjoyed how relieved allies would be in 7 post-Farbanti whenever you showed up as reinforcements. We'll likely get a number of voice lines of

Lol. Well it's been 14 years since it launched and Gaylo has an anniversary coming up (more like a fucking wake), maybe the cycle of nostalgia has looped around for people to say 4 was good, actually.

They didn't nuke any of the fan translations of AC3 or such. I think as long as the recompilation requires you to run a separate .exe + have the file from the disc, it should work out.
>>
>>560192526
The only good thing about 4 was that it looked really good for a 360 game and Cortana looked really pretty in it.

For the record, other recompilations from the 360, like the Unleashed Recompiled project for Sonic Unleashed, were never nuked. And they even released their resources to help other games get recompiled for the 360 (they might be using thos, XenonRecomp and XenosRecomp, for this project, for all we know)
https://github.com/hedge-dev/UnleashedRecomp
But as you'll notice, the recompilation is not a pirated release, you still need to find the files for the original game somewhere. So the recompilation software to make AC6: PC edition can definitely just be released separately.

I was planning on playing AC6 through Xenia, this has made me reconsider waiting more, but honestly I think I'll just go through it, it's months away at best, and that's if it actually gets completed and isn't dropped midway.
>>
>>560215026
Yeah it's probably better to do that. Recomps take a ton of effort to pull off and the reason Sonic Unleashed pulled through is because the Sonic fanbase are extreme autists (and way bigger)

Unsurprisingly the 6 crew of the KC-135 that crashed did not survive. It's not a variant capable of being refueled itself so I'm betting crew fatigue led to an incident while they were getting into a regueling pattern alongside the second tanker.

I wish they would release the system requirements for AC8. I already know for sure it won't run on my system, but I want to know just how bad it is.
>>
>>560266742
Is your rig new enough to upgrade? Do you have the money to upgrade with how the market is now? AC8's requirements are my biggest concern with the new game, even more than the possibility of shitty Infinity-tier microtransactions, because I know I'm not going to be able to afford upgrading any time soon. I hope my 2024 build will last through all the hardware uncertainty.

What would you name my mach 3 capable top speed with combat load not tested yet interceptor, buddies?
My idea was for it to be part of a trio of plens with astronomy-based names called Orion (this one), Sirius and Andromeda, I might actually get back into Flyout and make the other two

>I hope my 2024 build will last through all the hardware uncertainty.
they're releasing 8 for current gen consoles brochacho, unless that 2024 build is an amazon e-ink reader attached to a desktop monitor you should be good
>>
>>560266742
>>560268017
if you can run current gen games decently you should be fine
maybe you'll just have to tone down the cloud quality a little
>>
>>560268017
>Is your rig new enough to upgrade?
Yes but not to the newest series, if I remember correctly the most I could upgrade to, at least for the CPU, is the Ryzen 5000 series.
>Do you have the money to upgrade with how the market is now?
lol no, if I did I wouldn't have made that post.
>>
>>560268320
>if you can run current gen games decently you should be fine
That's the issue though, I can't, and that's why I'm sure I won't be able to run the game. I'm running a 2GB VRAM with a broken fan, out of the 2 it has. There is no way it will run, but I wanna see the system requirements anyway just out of curiosity.
>>
>>560268153
I like the astronomical naming scheme, keep that.

do you mind playing at 720p?
>>
>>560268626
>do you mind playing at 720p?
I'm willing to bet it won't even reach 30fps at 480p with minimum settings. I would be surprised if the game even opened at all, it's probably gonna have a DirectX12 requirement, which my current hardware doesn't support.

Depends on the game, there's huge variances in optimization and performance. Cyberpunk runs really well on high. MH Wilds ran ok and stable, but I'm dropping down to low settings to keep it such. Thankfully I mostly play older games so I'm fine for most of my library, and Project Aces fills me with hope since they figured out how to put 7 on Switch hardware, but until we get specs I'll still have concerns and I genuinely won't know for sure until I'm playing the game on bare metal.
