Patzer anon who went 0/7 in his first FIDE rapid tournament here. This might be a bit niche, but I'd rather ask you guys than Plebbit. I'm playing my first classical tournament this summer (75+30), so I'd like to get some input from the more experienced players on the best way to prepare. I usually only play 15+10 online, so I'm guessing the first step is switching to a longer time control like 30+20 or something. Besides that, should I just keep grinding puzzles, prep my openings, learn more theoretical endgames, the usual improvement stuff? It's an open tournament, and my goal is to win at least one game. Any and all input is welcome.
