Especially if you are playing a solo lane. Changing runes dependent on matchups can give you an edge against your laner. Also, there is many other different things you can run that can give you an edge in whatever outcome you are trying to play to.Also, in terms of following item builds, it's not a big deal if you're like an adc main or whatever.
