The alex patch is NOT the meta shifting new season patch. That is going to be the Ingrid patch in late 2026. The meta is in a good place right now and only minor tweaks are needed here and there, plus Alex will shake things up a lot.

The criticism against SF6 all boils down to boomers taking the concept of fundamentals too far. Having fundamentals is important but it is not a complete strategy. Boomers think that the game should only revolve around 2MK fireball but they are missing out on every other tool that the game gives them, causing them to play at a disadvantage and lose a lot.

It can feel like down back simulator a lot of the time because of how far he has to respect low forward drive rushYou have to memorize a lot of level 2 stuff to make good use of it. Before you even play JP I would say you need to learn the full combo midscreen, the full combo in the corner, the unlockable, the side switch, the conversion on air juggle, and the DI combo, minimum. No one else is handicapping themselves as much if they don't have all this kind of shit memorized. You have to be ready for odd conversions off of stray portals or you can end up fucking yourself. Some of his juggles require manual timing, like the h swing drive rush frhk conversions are all manually timed So he's very strong but I would not say he is easy. You actually do have to do your homework to do well with him
