And I realized I hate modernshit even more than I already did. Sonic CD already handled the issue decently well. Amy overstepps Sonic's agency by hugging him, and in turn Metal Sonic takes her agency by kidnapping her. It's a clean loop and you can imagine her showing up in spinoffs is her way of loving sonic without denying his freedom. Then modernshit blows up the crush to a monstrous degree for shit comedy and her reputation gets worse than it was in the 90s. She can't even make jokes or speak hypothetically about it because modernshit destroyed any benefit of the doubt she could've had and in true modernshit fashion, she's now so far on the other end, it doesn't make sense as to why she ever liked sonic in the first place

Growing up is realizing that Iizuka must also be autistic on some level.
I brought the first IDW collection, it mostly covers the first arc, the neo metal sonic one.I must say, I am surprised how in the first arc they introduced basically almost all of the important OCs that became popular, you got Tangle, Whisper, Starline, even Lanolin even if back then she was just a background character.... and I guess the skunk brothers are there too even if they have never been popular. The next popular OCs they would introduce would be Surge and Kit and that is in +40 issues later, and after them no other OCs have got that popular.I also like the references to the next arc, the metal virus one, with Silver talking about his future only having metallic plants and no life.I liked it a lot, it was dumb fun, mostly introductions to characters, but it was cool, Super Neo Metal was great, sad it didn't last too long.

You should think of Sonic like the god of his world. Dark Gaia's magic has no effect on his mind. Cyber Corruption damages everyone else more than it damages him. The Prism Paradox was not able to split his personality. Nature summoned Classic Sonic because it needs a Sonic to keep balance. These are all official things in the games.
