Like there is a big boss that you warp to for your Unity once per day to get rewards and it's pretty much impossible to target it, even though it's a gigantic boss, because the game seems to want to cycle through everything else other than the boss first. The entire game is like this. And then you know the sheath and unsheath animation in XIV? There's basically that, but you're only in combat and you can only attack with your weapon unsheathed. It takes like 3-5 seconds to sheath or unsheath your weapon, and even if you are being attacked, you cannot even queue an action until your weapon is unsheathed. So if you're killing lots of enemies it becomes a game of trying to switch targets (to the right target, which is, again, so much harder than it ever should be) right as the target you're fighting is dying to try to stay in combat. There's bullshit like lining your character and your camera up so that the enemy you want to kill is directly in front of you and your camera, that way you have the best chance of staying in combat and actually targeting that enemy when the current enemy is dead.

FF11 is really really cool, totally playable on controller and you can try it free. I like big maps and grinding mobs so I enjoyed just doing that for hours. Finding quests and main quest and doing it is really hard though. But the basics of rpg are really nice and the feeling of old school ff is there.

Add in other stuff we also know to be coming like Character specific banners and the game will be in a good spot. Also, beyond that the devs have actually show themselves to be really receptive to feedback and have made changes even since the launch of the game, not to mention the changes since the beta. It's really just a question of getting over the initial tantrum.
