I've read some other things in the past but that was a long time ago. There are differences between the physics simulations you do in academia and game physics, obviously. But there is also a lot of obvious overlap. I'm not stranger to numerical ode and pde solving. The collision stuff I'm more iffy with. I remember reading some collision stuff in the past and I thought it was reatively easy. Of course some of the more advanced stuff like the collision baking that physx does is a bit more advanced.I just can't stand to use a physics engine written in C++ bros. If you're still talking about the movement, that's because you have a floaty feedforward animation controller. e.g. When you walk into an enemy or wall or something, your character will still play the forward run animation at full speed, while not moving or even getting pushed back aka moonwalking. If you go and look at the Unreal movement controllers, you'll see that it uses the environment feedback to decide what animations to play. I haven't used any of the Unity movement controllers, but I assume you can find similar ones on the asset store.
