It's extremely playable solo. You can fill your party with AI henchmen with premade builds, and once you unlock the fully customizable AI companions it basically becomes a CRPG where you get to plan out an entire party for yourself.

You might want to wait a few weeks until the anniversary, though. Good chance the game goes on sale.

Warclaw gives you a ton of CC for open world + you can mount it when stunned to prevent dying, it's kinda OP. Spear is also OP on most classes although there are alternative builds without spear with a slight DPS loss.
OTOH I have 20 mastery points sitting unused due to how little I played the actual expansion, I played through the story, got enough xp to unlock warclaw fully and get spear, and barely ever went back, the metas are trash, the bava nisos map looks like it was patched together by a few interns just to shit it out and call it content. Seems to be their new business model, release some OP weapons/mounts/specs that force you to buy it if you wanna have competitive dps, put in 90% of the effort on the first map to drag people in, then shit out some garbage to finish off the expansion once everyone has already bought in.

Nah if you fish in Kourna and make sure your fishing power is high enough, food for party stacks or steal them from the people already there etc you make 20 gold per hour fairly easily. It's just boring and kinda tedious, you don't even get to be in a nice looking map you're in stinky ass kourna. There are other higher value spots but only good at night or stuff like that so you'd have to hop around maps and eat a lot of the zephyrite fish jerky to re-up your stacks every time.
