This topic has come up many times, and it's probably even the same people.

"Betrayal" implies intent. To betray someone implies that you intend to harm them. Yrliet didn't actually intend to harm you, she assumed you would handle the situation, and your party would talk to the druikhari and find the location of her kin. In Yrliet's autism-addled mind, she didn't think anything bad was going to happen. Which means it's not "true" betrayal, it was more like a harmful accident.

That being said, I'm not exactly defending her. It's still incredibly stupid to the point of being unrealistic that she thought the drukhari would just...chat. The fact that she didn't at the very least warn you to be prepared for drukhari means she's is criminally negligent. She is guilty of getting everyone sent to rape town due to extreme stupidity, but the distinction that this is not really intentional betrayal is true on technicality.

It's similar to the difference between lying and simply being mistaken. Lying implies intent, you know what you're saying is untrue. But simply being mistaken, you're trying your best and there is no ill-intent, you just happen to be wrong. Yrliet didn't *want* to send everyone to rape town, she was just mistaken and very stupid. It's up to you to decide how angry you get.

Brooks' book about Lion El'Jonson was pretty good imo, but the rest of his work is meh at best. I think GW was probably heavily involved with the making of that book since it's about the return of a Primarch, so perhaps that's why it's better than his other works.
Gav's problem is that he refuses to get over his autistic obsession with Eldar being a dying race that must always suffer and never win, no matter what. He's good at writing lore, but he sucks at writing books that fans of Eldar would want to buy and read.
