This should be one of these greymane request tutorial missions. It's so wild, to have such a key item, so deep in bumfuck nowhere. (and apparently it is also bugged, supposed to unlock helpers from each region but only unlocks greymane helpers.)

There's way less downtime, way more build variety, and the nature of the story lends itself to multiple playthroughs. CD has none of that going for it. I can't say for sure because I'm not done with it but I feel like this game would actually be pretty miserable to replay from the start because you lose the intrigue of exploration and any mystery the story provides in the early hours, and because you're drastically kneecapped in terms of combat ability. But there also really isn't any build variety either because it all ends up blending together in the end unless you're gonna limit yourself to bows only or whatever. When there's a mod that lets you properly play through the entire game as Damiane or Oongka there might be a point, but until then I doubt many people are gonna be jumping right back in for another playthrough.
