There are plenty of other adepts throughout the series who are geniuses, like Merak, Tesseo, Zonda, Asroc, ZED, and Nova. Even Gunvolt and Joule are really smart. Neither of them had any schooling, but they wanted to go to school just to feel normal. So over Summer break, they mastered the K-8th Grade curriculum so they could attend classes together. GV did this on top of working a job. Like that's insane. I am having a really difficult time arguing against why adepts shouldn't rule humanity, especially because in the GVerse, my kids or their kids will likely be adepts themselves.

The wallpapers will be canon. That's what all the buildup in Gunvolt 3 is pointing towards. I'm surprised that people were so blind to it for years. So many people whining about how GV3 severs the series from everything before it when it is the Gunvolt game most obsessed with the past. So many people who think that this is a conclusion to Gunvolt's story when the ending of GV3 and its DLC have a far stronger sequel hook than GV1 or GV2 did. Or they feel the next Gunvolt is going to be like iX, where the games are only very loosely connected, when it's literally stated that Gunvolt is in HIS past. The plot threads and mysteries from GV2, like Nori, Xiao, and the pendant, or the end of the world, are still there, they were just put temporarily on pause. GV3, in retrospect, will feel like a bridge between arcs in the series, a real middle game.All this assumes INTI does not go under, of course. Postpatch established a problem and gave GV a clear objective to pursue. Prepatch, the ending felt very open, like it was something you could continue or end a series on. It's the sort of bittersweet stuff I love in Gunvolt endings. The other thing is that the dialogue confirming that Gunvolt was sent back to the time and place of his birth, and not some alternate dimension, is in one of the ATEMS home conversations. Most home conversations are boring, so people skip them. This is brought up in a few of the drama tracks. A lot of people think "dead guy" may have been Xiao. They had no idea where to follow up on the plot hooks it left dangling. GV1 and GV2 are intimately connected, with the most fleshed casts (see >>563582282). The characters between both games crossover heavily into each other's stories, and feel the most like they exist in the setting. INTI has said before that they feel like they can't top these characters, and now that they're all dead, so where do they go? They go back.

>>563616429It's very consistent. Due to Asimov's indoctrination, Gunvolt is very good at compartmentalization. There's DorkVolt, who is a pretty swell guy. He's compassionate and doesn't like violence. He's a big softie. Then there's the Azure Striker, who is cold as ice. And Gunvolt can flip between the two as needed. Gunvolt will dehumanize his enemies. It's very obvious with Elise's encounter and how he turns on a dime with her, from maximum sympathy to annoyance. You could also look at the Eden encounters where he is mostly unphased when he hears some of their backstories. As the games go on, the barrier between his two personas starts breaking down, which is what leads to a lot of his angst. Finally, there's the Berserker, who usually appears in the final stages, when somebody harms Joule. This is the Gunvolt who says that he will show no mercy, even if asked, everyone is going to die.INTI writing is good enough. It's not deep, but it's interesting and justifies itself.
