Because the new writer tries as hard as they can to be "respectful" by just exaggerating one of the traits that already exists. This isn't just some shit made up to shit in Sonamy and Sonally. This is the end-all-be-all. You are not going to get official Sonic pairing content unless somehow the Sonic franchise stops being under the control of Japanese.
